hello troops...just putting together a general...best of...from the last 10 years for someone who is listening to prince's 80s stuff and loving it and wants to hear the best from his recent music output...just trying to gauge the general opinion of what is his best music since the turn of the century..?...looking to make a single cd so 80 mins of prince from 2000....around 18 tracks....

I'd pretty much ignore a 'singles collection' and go for personal best tracks from the era. Prince's singles over the past 15 years have been abysmal.

Also, wtf is '$' on people's lists?

yes i would include most of these but black sweat...never liked it that much...and better with time...hmmm....not one of his better ballads i would say...better stuff on one nite alone album...

I would agree with everything on here but would probably drop beginning endlessly, last december & pfunk (all a bit too long & more for someone into him I think) - and I would substitue here on earth (from one nite alone...) for a case of u

the shorter edits of chelsea rogers & somewhere here on earth from their videos too as you don't miss much from the cd versions and you can squeeze more onto the cd for your friend - same if you have the single edits of dance 4 me, fury & musicology

I'm regretting myself: Rainbow Children for F.U.N.K.

Why? F.U.N.K. was a great hit on itunes, many people could remember it I guess.

It's quit useless making a 'best of' from 21unknown tracks, it would be as pathetic as 'the best of me' by Daniel Powter

I don't like 'Better With Time' either, maybe 'Future Baby Mama' could fit better while this one received an award and actually charted on some lists.
