Prince has a new obsession. Sources say he's very taken with cover band Rahj and the Mash, whose slogan is "Everything you've ever wanted to hear, the way you've never heard it before." Prince has watched the group play at the Village Under ground for the past seven Saturday nights. "He comes in with a big entourage, includ ing his security, and dances in front of the stage," a source said. "He seems to be taking special notice of the bass player, Ron Long -- maybe that's why he's coming."

I don't know but if he's as impressive as you say, I hope somebody at least warns him. So he can make an informed decision, rather than a Prince-struck one.

maybe it's the fact that it's not a professional recording, but what i've seen of the the group on u tube isn't that earth shattering. the bass player though is very good. there is a clip of him with larry graham, and that was funkay

Well right now, he's a nobody, if he works with Prince he'll be getting paid MUCH more than he probably is now, and his profile will be raised considerably... If Prince get's said no to, im pretty sure it has to do with the demands of touring and a strenuous rehearsing schedule which can be a lot if someone has a family, but otherwise I'm pretty sure most anyone iwithout their own career (so to speak) would be honored to join his band.
