Hey, for any Aussies out there, there is a new local release of Sign O The Times:

http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/music/pop-rock/prince-sign-o-the-times-live-in-concert/587894

This one's much better than the crappy 4:3 one they have been selling for the past few years. This one is widescreen, remastered with much better colour and sound. Funky stuff cool

(for the record, this is the Aussie release of the Canadian version which was released a few years ago, so if like me, you already ordered the Canadian one, then you won't need this...)

The solo on ICNTTPOYM is one of my favs of all time. It literally gives me goosebumps.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I like the derumline segment, where Sheila E. and them come on stage in a row and bang on their drums and clap their sticks wink

Pure awesomeness

The Housequake scene got me die-hard fan for good. I liked the Hits/B-sides already, but when I saw that scene there was no turning back. I'm so grateful my dad bought that DVD accidently and he regrets it a lot now he's hearing Prince on a daily base smile

Still probably my favourite rendition of the song and SOTT Live is still my favourite concert. Make sure you get it as soon as possible, IamFunkay7.

You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

He wants to settle down. I wanna know why a wolf is dressed up like a lamb?

The bass slap and the way he slowed If I was your girlfriend down was so funkin' hot. This movie was so good, I still remember where I saw it for the first time.

I really enjoyed the prelude to If I Was Your Girlfriend. I watched the Cat scene over and over again. She was sitting on the bed, legs slightly agaped in her bikini panties writing a letter where she asked the question, how could a wolf be dressed up like a lamb. I like that crotch shot scene. I really enjoyed Hot Thing as well.

I'm 100% agreeing with you on this. One of my all time faves too. Top 3 solo's of all time. One of the most underrated gems in the Purple Cannon. I often refer to ICNTTPOYM as When You Were Mine Part II - I mean that in the best way...

This songs were not played if i'm correct. so they never have been part of the setlist. Prince probably thought adding them would noty work in the concerts.

He didn't lpay you got the look either. to bad he choose to put the clip in the movie.

I rather had he put Girls and Boys in, i recall that as being great performances.

This has always devastated me. I wonder if there are outtakes of those songs? I know there is a 2 disc outtakes DVD floating around. "Strange Relationship" should have been a single. I'm a HUGE fan of "If I Was Your Girlfriend", but "Strange Relationship" & "Starfish & Coffee" both would have done much better from a singles perspective had they had promotional conceptual videos shot and promoted. I believe Princes refusal to make a video for "Pop Life" was the very first big decision he made that severely effected his commercial successes. You have to remember during this time, MTV RULED the industry- videos were PARAMOUNT at that time. Prince made SEVERAL decisions to not make videos throughout his career that have intensely crippled what I think could have been an even more Colossal assault on the charts. In fact, to my knowledge, there were never proper music videos shot for "When U Were Mine","D.M.S.R." or "Delirious", 3 more major promotional mistakes.

Hello, I agree with your point 100%. There were many songs that P should've made videos for, especially Adore, Baby, Do Me Baby and International Lover.

Only decent picture quality and sound, other that that it is the same fake "concert" movie as the other versions.
