Based on the "Song Gotta Broken Heart Again" & general probability, I'd say yes he has.

Not a broken heart,

but I believe he was frustrated (Cindy Crawford, Sheena Easton), pissed/mad (Carmen Electra) or bitter (Mayte)...

If it's possible for someone with the attitude and personality like Prince to have a broken heart -- if anybody has ever broken his heart -- it would be Mayte.

Evident from his earlier comments, songs, & history from his 2nd and 3rd album. Prince was all about heartbreaks and wanting love, and Dirty Mind was something of the same thing, but more bolder. During the Dirty Mind period, he was suffering from depression as in "Broken", and someone else stated, "Gotta Broken Heart Again"

They could easily have been written about someone else, or shock.....horror, they could be total fiction.

I doubt every word that he has written is autobiographical in nature.

Um, yeah. What do you think he is? Sure he may be a god in music, but he has a human heart and he wears it on his sleeve very often. The poor guy has been hurt many times..just listen to his music. It is inspired by what's going on in his life. When he's in love, we get ballads about that. When he's hurting, we get songs about that too. And you don't have to be in love to get your heart broken, so I'd say a couple other girls broke it too...Eye Hate U is pretty strong. I'd say Mayte broke his heart too, I will always believe he wrote ILYBIDTYA about her. Poor guy.

Prince is human just like us. I am sure he's had his heart broken many times. By family, friends & fans. All it really takes is to listen to his back catalog to realise just how much.

There are a million ways for a person's heart to be broken. If you think a failed romance is the only way, you are shallow, indeed.

I get your point, but I refuse to believe that "yomamafat" is asking us if we think that Prince felt bad or not with the death of his child, when it's pretty clear that it was the lowest/most horrible point of his life; that would be monstrous...

I agree JoeTyler. Its a silly question no offense because everyone human has had their heart broken at some point but I believe the OP meant romantically as well.

I wil NOT discuss Prince's son. There are some things that shouldn't be discussed at all, and out of respect, no matter what your fan level is, you shouldn't bring up the son. That's just waters that nobody should tread. I can kind of see the point of that being a big time heartbreaker, a BIG time heartbreaker...but we should honestly drop that subject. I mean, let's be a little respectful about things.

NOW, as far as romantic heartbreak, a lot of the women he's had in his life, I'm sure he didn't really care if they broke up or not. BUT, I think it's a little different with Mayte. You notice he rarely, if ever, performs songs from the Mayte era of his life? I think he was torn apart by the situation with Mayte...and, as someone who's went through that kind of heartbreak enough in his life, I think losing Mayte still hurts him. It probably always will hurt him.
