yes, that's why I asked earlier if Prince works out. If he works out then he should be doing splits without problem. Unless his body is hurting.

He should do stretching and yoga, he has small frame like gymnasts and should be easy to get back on track.

But if he doesn't, I still love him and his music, even if he sings on the crutches.

I feel that Prince devotes a lot to his music, and surely is consumed by it (in a positive way, that is). So he may not be touring often but in terms of a dedicated artist, he definatley is at the top.
And together we'll stare into silence.

I would agree hardest working musician male. For female, that Ani Difranco is quite productive, and actively involved in her career

yeah, ani!

i think prince is the most multitalented man i know of in showbusiness. i think what he has done in entertainment would be very hard work for most people but he's such a quick study, not sure how hard this has been for him, relatively. i mean it looks like he gets his beauty rest.

i've got this feelin that he might just record his own version of every single song he hears, just for fun! or perhaps he's busy building a new city on venus in his spare time. just trying to say, i think showbusiness mightn't be his main thing anymore, but plenty other work to do.

Stephen Fry is the hardest working person in entertainment. When he's not lecturing, hosting a documentary, or having a book published, he's probably on a talk show, hosting QI, or starring on stage, on TV, or supporting a blockbuster movie.

rolleyes I hope James Brown's ghost pays you a visit and reminds you what the HWMISB looked like.

I don´t mean to disrespect James Brown, and I really like a lot of his music but....why exactly was he called the hardest working man in showbiz? I know from documentaries on him that he was a perfectionist and that he toured a lot and that he spent a lot of time on perfecting the choreography of his shows and that he gave his band instructions during rehearsals so that every single note would sound perfect but....I still don´t understand why he is the first one to come to mind when it comes to the title "HWMIS". Is it simply because the title stuck with him and became sort of his moniker and image, or is there more to it? Did he write more songs, including vault material, than Prince? Did he break more records saleswise or number of stage shows?

As I said above, I´m not dissing JB, just trying to understand why he has that title and reputation and not Prince. I wouldn´t really call myself a dedicated JB fan but I have read a lot about him and watched a lot of documentaries on him, and while I understand that he was the epitome of a showman, I still don´t really get why he´s still lightyears ahead of Prince when it comes to the question who the hardest working man in showbiz is. From what I´ve seen from Prince since the early 80s, and from reading about him or talking to people from his circle, I´d say that he´s probably THE most dedicated and hard working man in showbiz who ever existed, but that´s just my personal opinion.

Well, at his peak Prince, arguably, was the hardest working man is show business but James came before Prince so it's only natural that he has that title. If you look at James' output from about 1965-1975 it seemed like he had a single out every other month! He was always recording and touring and at one time he was regularly releasing 2-3 (or more) albums a year. Now, it's only fair to point out that Prince and James were at their peak in different eras. It seems likely that if Prince was around at the same time as James that he easily could have maintained and possibly surpassed his workload but by the '80s it was not the practice to release as much material as it was in the '60s.

Also, James recorded and released a fair bit of material for other artists. He wasn't quite as involved as Prince was in his protege releases but James did put a fair bit of his time and energy into other artists recordings.

Ultimately I think it is fair to say that James was the hardest working man in show business but by the early '80s Prince had taken over that title.

I think it really depends on your definition of the term. Currently are there other artists that are harder working than Prince? I don't know, there probably are. However, if you look at the totality of his careeer from 1978 to the present are there any artists that have come close to maintaining the pace that Prince has over the years? Maybe, but I can't think of anyone. Typically the older an artist gets the less music they release and the wait between albums gets longer and longer. That hasn't really happened with Prince. I think he has slowed down a little bit but not much.

The way I look at it is if there are harder working men (or women) out there today will they come close to maintaining that pace at the age of 52? Perhaps they will but it seems unlikely.

Peter Andre is 'hardest working singer'

Peter Andre
Peter Andre performed to almost 100,000 fans on his 38-date Revelation tour in 2010

Peter Andre has been named Britain's hardest working singer for notching up more major concerts in 2010 than any other artist.

The Mysterious Girl singer topped the list, compiled by PRS for Music, after performing to almost 100,000 fans on his 38-date Revelation tour in 2010.

Previous winners Status Quo took second place in the annual chart, with X Factor runners-up JLS coming in third.

Irish band Westlife and veteran rocker Rod Stewart completed the top five.

Andre said: "Nothing beats performing live. Performing in front of thousands of fans is my ultimate experience so I'm delighted to get this recognition from PRS for Music."

The singer's career spans almost two decades, after first releasing an album in his native Australia in 1993.

He had his first hit in the UK in 1995 with Mysterious Girl which reached number two in chart but its re-release following his 2004 appearance on ITV1's I'm A Celebrity saw it reach the top spot.

London rapper Example notched up the most performances at smaller concert venues, followed by Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah.

He so wants to look like Prince..but your stats only reflect UK singers...NOT showbusiness as a whole..nobody really knows who this wanker is stateside anyhow..

And we all know how "Stateside" = The world.

but we were talking about in front of the camera..I'm not saying u don't work hard..I'm sure you do. But being a camera man, you know what performers have to go through...and Prince is like a quadruple threat...so comparing a legitimate, union, ass-kicking job like yours to what P does, is not really reasonable, for this thread's topic.
