I,ve allways thought this should have been the case ,it should have been called something like "from darkness to light".the black album would have needed to be cleaned up production wise as i think lovesexy is one of his best produced albums .You could have had the spoken interlude beetween the albums that was in the middle of the lovesexy shows.what a great double album this would have been!scarlet pussey could have replaced when two r u love on the black side.

wow, I think Lovesexy is a production mess! But I think that was the point of throwing it together in one week or whatever it was... to be a spastic and energetic.

Black album has perfect cohesive production, mixes, levels, and very deliberate arrangements to my ears.

no, they are completely opposite.

And that's exactly why I love the idea.

didnt read all the thread posts, but he performed several black album songs during the lovesexy tour. i think a double album could've worked conceptually. "light and dark" . "good vs. evil". the fact that he'd just done SOTT as a double LP is irrelevant in an "ideal record" industry at the time. if you have that type of prolific, free them up!

Nope, theyre not counterparts, they never were, just because he replaced one of them doesn't make them twins. The Black Album is edgy, raw, and silly, Lovesexy is light, mushy, and melodic. A double album should be as consistant as a single-disc one.

Shoot, if it worked for R. Kelly it could have worked for Prince.

My sentiments exactly. Lovesexy is barely even coherent enough to be called an album. If it had been packed with the black album it would be that second disc nobody talks about.

??? I'm not not understanding ??

Can you let us know the reasoning behind lovesexy not being coherent enough to be an album?
