I'm very grateful to Prince for the artists he's introduced me to.

Mine also include Janelle Monae and Esperanza Spalding, as well as Cassandra Wilson, John Blackwell (and thus, the John Blackwell Project - awesome CD!), Maceo Parker, Larry Graham, Miles Davis and I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting...

Also, despite the fact that I did knew who they were, his respect for artists like James Brown and Stevie Wonder have led me to buy their albums and I'm currently crazy for Stevie - he's playing in my car, on my phone, in my head, lol!

Then there are the artists that I know about either from my Prince research or via places like the org - Tyka Nelson, Erykah Badu and I own a couple of Hendrix albums now due to his influence (recognised or otherwise) on Prince's music.

One way or the other, Prince has been a wonderful (and powerful!) influence to my music collection - most of what I play these days (other than MJ) is either him or someone he's showcased/highlighted!

I already knew Janale Monoe because I watched that show "I Wanna Work For Diddy" and they mentioned her. She has a very unique style.

Also My New Favourite Song Was Discovered By Me Listening 2 Prince...In The Track "Old Skool Company" he mentions "Bad Mamma Jamma"...so i looked it up on Google and found an Old Disco Funk Track Called "Shes A Bad Mamma Jamma" By Carl Carlton...After Hearing It I Brought A Soundtrack Which Featured The Track (Undercover Brother http) ...im in love with that track...2 funky!!! here it is > http://www.youtube.com/wa...Sl5VurCaIQ
