Nope, not worth it. Seeing the same setlists over and over just cements it for me.

That is definitely a reason I no longer HAVE to see each show (not that I ever had the money to hussle as one would have to hussle to do so)

I've seen several shows in the last couple of years and while they are ALWAYS a good time, a bit of the high has diminished with the repetitive set list.

IMHO, it also seems like the shows are rushed a bit. I know that the setlist is going to be played at a higher bpm to amp up the vibe, but I've been at a couple of shows where it felt forced.

I don't understand this whole traveling to see someone perform. No matter how fantastic they are, they have to come to me. We're all busy, so chasing someone (even Prince) cross country seems pointless.

But my point of veiw may have something to do with the fact that I'm in NYC, and everybody eventully ends up in the City.

I agree with every word. Plus I'm sick of covers and medleys.

I flew to NYC from the midwest for the 12/17 and 12/18 shows. While the shows were the main motivation in planning the trip, it's not like I just went to the shows, then went back to my hotel and watched tv. I had a lot of fun on my little mini-vacation. At the end of my life, I want to have a collection of life experiences rather than a bunch of money sitting in a bank account.

Same here! Prince, do YOUR songs in their entirety(or in a minimally trimmed down version)!

THAT is what this audience member wants and believe me, I am certain I am not the only one!

It amazes me that as a fan wanting that, I might be considered by some to be unreasonable.

So, Prince, of course, will do what he wants. I have now chosen (therein lies the key) not to hustle, jump through hoops and/or spend ridiculous amounts of time and money to see a show far from where I live.

Exactly! The attraction was not only Prince but NYC! I took my 21 year old son, who just graduated college, and we had a blast at the 15 and 17th concerts and then we also experienced New York City together for the first time which was wonderful! I will always treasure this vacation and the memories! biggrin

I'm a history nerd, so Vegas really doesn't hold a lot of appeal to me. New York, on the other hand, is a history nerd's dream town (well, at least in the US)

I love New York and wish I could get there more often. I was really happy when Prince announced the concerts there because it was the perfect excuse to quit saying "Oh, I'd like to go back to New York sometime" and actually do it.
