I do remember going to a paisly park show in 9/01 i think? It was john blackwells 1st show. We were in line & there was a midget creating a fuss at the front door wanting to get in early. He kept mentioning he was w/ cirque du soleil. It was pretty funny. Midget had to go to the back of the line. Anyone on the org at this show? It was off the hook. I remember P leading the band in this incredible egyptian tinged instrumental ala NEWS. They ended the show playing Commons "The Light" if i remember right. Anyone here on the org at this gig & if so is there a tracklist floating about?

so I typed "has Prince ever worked with Cirque du Soleil" into google and the only relevant link that came up was right to this thread. So that doesn't really answer the question, does it?

of course you and I both know that he hasn't worked with them, but since Google doesn't turn up any results, it seems perfectly reasonable to come here and ask the question.

As much as i'm rivited to jakesauras whiny bitch fest of a thread I'd still like to know what the setlist was for that gig. Anyone?

The closest thing he's done to Cirque Du Soleil is the 1993 Joffret Ballet set to all Prince music.

I went to that in Detroit and it was outstanding. Prince even gave the ballet an extended version of Thunder that I haven't heard anywhere else.

I doubt he'd work with Cirque, since there is currently a Beatles act (Love in Vegas) and an upcoming Michael Jackson act (Immortal). He would be seen as a follower, not a trendsetter.

I got no beef with you. But the point of a site dedicated to discussing Prince on the Internet should be a place to come if you can't find the information anywhere else. In this case, there wasn't any information found through google research, so it seems reasonable to me that someone would come here to ask the question. We could point everyone to google for information on any topic or direct people to a thread from three years ago about any previous conversation, but that hardly seems like the point of the site. It would die a very quick death that way if every thread was locked and pointed elsewhere.
