It depends on your definition of different.
The "damn near 10" is a much earlier version, with the most obvious sound difference being that the guitar is a lot louder in the mix. The main hook is guitar lead, with accompanying flute, where the later cuts have the flute out center with the guitar pushed back.
As with most of P's work, I think the earlier version is less polished, less messed, and overall a better peace of work. Everytime P sits on a track too long within particular project, he over produces it. .

i had a chance to buy one + the 'glam slam 91' for $25 or $30, I so should have! what are they worth now? [Edited 12/7/10 9:35am] "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Glam Slam '91 was never officially pressed as far as I know. The white label Birthday Promo of Gett Off is worth a pretty penny, though. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I really like the "rawness" of the Damn Near 10 Minutes Mix. The released versions pail in comparison when you hear this. One of my favourites.

"Damn Near 10 Minutes Mix"'s major difference is that the constant club synth bass line is not added yet, and the song doesn't have that urgent propulsion, which I think gave it more growl and menace in the final arrangement. Everything else seems to be the same parts, but just a bit more raw in the mix. But the production is not really different! It's not like how I like the demo's/unfinished versions of New Power Generation or Elephants and FLowers way better then the over produced, differently arranged results!
