I know, but some of my friends never stop. This has been going on for years lol Sometimes it's funny, & sometimes I wish they would keep it to themselves, after already getting the point across that they don't like him.

Same here, then it gets to a point where it really gets irritating and they say silly stuff on purpose just to make u mad "for fun". I'm like 'u making fun of my man!' But hey, like I ask again, what can u do? but everyday, I keep those earphones in and listen to him sing, not caring what anyone says. Reminds me of Uptown by the way

But some times, they ask about him and come to u with what they've heard about him. Of course u already know cuz ur on the Org! lol. Some conversations are better than others. I prefer the ones where I'm teaching them about something of Prince knowledge. Hopefully u get those times too

Lol!! My friends just make silly jokes about him to me, some examples:

Prince would make a great garden ornament! Ha Ha hardy ha ha!

or

He would make a great substitute 4 a hot water bottle......

One had the nerve to draw a penis on my lovesexy cd case, i just laughed & told him it ain't anywhere near big enough! he was expecting me to get all upset over it.

I just let them have their fun & get on with it!!! At times they can be seemingly unrepentant & at other times they will listen to his songs with me.

I don't try to convert them or anything if they like him that's fine, if not that's fine to!

None of my friends bag him out to the point where it angers me,

they just don't dig him the way i do!

Believe it or not, someday you'll grow up and will stop worrying about such important and capital facts.

It annoys the heck out of me and I let them know that. If they aren't important to me, I just tell them something along the lines of "Prince is the most amazing, most beautiful musician ever, so fuck off!" and walk away. If they are friends/family then I'd let them know that if they don't have anyting nice to say about him, then don't say anything at all... if they want to keep talking to me.

It's rude and ignorant to say mean things about someone's fave musician/actor/etc. Some folks really look up to their beloved celebs and it can hurt their feelings. If I had friends like that, I'd find myself a new set of friends! Opinions are one thing, but to keep it up is deliberate.

Any comments that I get from friends or family that are anything less-than-positive are jokingly and we end up laughing about it because its not to harsh. The last thing I got that wasn't so positive was a text from my sis that said: "LOL I just saw a pic of Prince from MSG. He is definately botoxed, especially around his mouth. Look at how stiff his lips are. LOL" The pic was attached and his lips were in that stiff position, it was funny. OF COURSE, I texted back "LMAO, U R Crazy! He is NOT botoxed!" But I know she means no harm, just poking at me.

Well, he has drawn pretty large targets all over himself throughout the years. You should join in making fun of him, it just means you're sane

Getting into a physical altercation over Prince is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of, not to mention totally against any beliefs he's ever had.

Um, usually I'm the one who makes fun of him. But always in the "loving" manner - so don't stone me!

Fun thing is that my friends made fun of him at first due to ignorance (gay, weirdo, etc.), but the more I expose them to Prince's music rather than his persona the more silent they get. One day I'll convert them

I could care less what some random person says about P or his music. My family who, some I'm close with and some I'm not, are who I would care more about 'their' oppinions but, that only goes so far. i don't get much of that anymore...i actually hear alot of positive comments when people find out i'm a huge prince fan...which blows me away with what i went through being a prince fan in the '80's and 90's...All my friends were into metallica and slayer, etc.and the general population back then seemed to be of the opinion that he was just a weird, gay pop star...these days i get alot of comments about what a great guitarist and performer he is and how they respect hi m...

So you winning a fight means that Prince isn't gay?

What the hell?? Are you related to Prince? Is he your best friend or something? Is there a relationship that exists between you and he that no one here knows about?

I know the answer is hell naw to all four, so why in the hell would you care what anyone says about him or that they make fun on him? Some of you guys on this site are just straight ridiculous. It's almost as if there's been a huge rush of young teeny boppers that has come to the org in the past few months!!

One of the doctors I work for always teases me about how small Prince is, calls him my "little pocket Prince". He wanted to check my pockets when I came back from the concert in New York to see if I had brought Prince back home with me on the plane. I just laugh. Trust me, if he could fit in my pocket, I would have!! I know it's all in fun, so it doesn't bother me.

Some people evidently aren't cut out for this internet lark. Or life in general if something as trivial as people taking the piss out of Prince upsets them to the point they have to get their angst out in the open.

It would shock some people to know there's a whole world out there beyond the tip of their nose happening right this very moment. Talk about needing to rethink priorities...
