Is it really worth it?

Most of you will say yes but...

I know you can fly into NY but right now...people are camping out in the airport to just leave NY.

For those of you flying in for the concert(s) is it really worth loosing more days of work or vacation time just to go to the concert?

Oh, maybe b/c if you are indeed flying in and all, you may be rich enough to confused

I'm really asking the ones who are true fans who would actually go into debt or be super broke in order to attend his concerts... wink

Um... let me warm up my vocals

i was laid off 3 weeks after i took on car payments for a newer car. now my credit cards nearly maxed out. glad to find out today my unemployment got extended another 3 and a half months...

yes i got tickets to all 5 but then again i live less then a hour from the venues...i don't think i'd fly cross country for a any show. i'm spoiled being he's playing multiple dates at the same venues. i would drive within a days distance for prince. i mean i did 3 for pearl jam..camden,nyc and philly...

hell if i can drive 8 hrs to ohio and buffalo to ghost hunt i'll go that far for prince. hopes for philly and Baltimore dates!!!

yoda i don't wear a cross?!!? i wear a prince symbol prince guitar wacky nutty I When Prince's cum dries, diamonds are formed. lol eek drooling no one tops prince in concert!

WOW! Very nice...

I'm curious on how much did you pay for your tix ...did you do the $20.10 tixs for all 5 days or higher?

If I was in that position - I would've brought $20.10 tixs for all 5 days. I would've want the higher ones but in order to attend all 5 - I couldn't go over that amount.

I'm so poor, I can't even pay attention :/

I bought tix for 3 shows: 173 x2, 173, and 114.

The next morning, my hot water heater flooded my basement and I had to drop another $450. to get it fixed. I started to regret all those tix almost immediately. I was already "cutting it close" with a mortgage, new car/car insurance, and home warranty renewal, plus Christmas.

When I woke up after my 3-show binge, I could honestly say it was worth it.... nod

I've been covering extra classes, doing Saturday detentions and administering SATs to make extra cash, because it was my choice to spend all that money.

But I don't know about flying across country or going all out without a job.....

**I'm going again on Jan. 18th... There are more Saturdays & kids to serve them. wink

As much as I love Prince I still wouldn't travel across the country to see him eek As a Nurse I work to hard for my money to just blow it in these hard economic times eek Now if he comes to Dallas I'm right there looking at him baby! lol If not, I have seen him in concert and I will have to cherish that-there is no way in hell I'm blowing a couple hundred or more to travel to see him eek I know some may not believe that, but it's true and it's sensible.

I wanted to go to Vegas back in 2006, but I was studying for my Qualifiers and had other things going on in my life. I was so jealous of people I knew who went, but I was afraid to go out on a limb like that. If Prince wasn't in NJ/NYC this time, I would have missed him again.

I don't get the traveling part.

I was amazed at the people who were getting angry when the tix were first announced because they didn't think it was enough time for them to make arrangements...

Okaaaaayyy.... but no one was forcing them to come out here. confused

PMB: You keep saying you're "used to being front row center".... You've posted that a few times in different threads. It sounds like you think it's your right. lol

I will no longer even contemplate going long (cross-country) distances to see Prince in concert.

I earn one day of vacation time per month so I guard it very carefully. Also, if I were to take the time and the expense to book plane tickets, a hotel and rental car possibly, and then the show was postponed or canceled (Prince's issue or not) I would be f.u.r.i.o.u.s. and who needs that?

I will go see him in Las Vegas eventhough that is not in my immediate neighborhood.

I have always wanted to combine a trip to Europe with a Prince tour and see him overseas (and hopefully meet tons of .orgers!) but I've not ever been able to make that work.

With Las Vegas, it's not that expensive for me to do that trip so if the show was canceled it would be no big loss. I'd be bummed for sure because the best thing to do in Las Vegas is to see a Prince concert, but there are plenty of other things to do so it would be a good time.

Same with going to Europe. I'd be bummed if the show were canceled, but I'd still enjoy the trip.

Okay, so I am contemplating other places if the tour continues... lurking

Driving distance, or a cheap train ride. wink

I had a heck of a time getting to NY for the shows...snowed in here, broke down there. Sitting and waiting time of a combined 14hrs. Not to mention lost on the subway at 3am when I finally got there. I can say its worth it after the show, I mean, Prince is AMAZING!! And you are on this constant high after seeing him, especially if you are lucky enough to see him more than 1 time in a week. But, when you get home to a major water leak that went on for a week and you're looking at a water bill of over $500, then you start to question, is Prince worth it?

And now, here I am, with this outrageous water bill coming, actually comtemplating spending another $600 to go see Prince on the 18th!! What is wrong here? Damn Prince for being so amazing and so sexy that I've gotten addicted to seeing him live. lol I've already dropped well over $3,000 this year seeing this man 4 times already!! Oh well, I just figure, enjoy life while I still can! Plus, the 18th show is a brand new year, so 2010 shows won't really count...razz

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I'm a student...hence I"m always strapped for cash. I manage to stretch a buck here and there...and I have an account strictly for musical purchases (i.e CD's, concert tix, etc), not always well-stocked, but there's always something in it. But I don't have the kind of money to blow on plane tickets, accomadation, and transport to go to one of Prince's shows. I had the same problem with This Is It. It's hard enough paying for an education, let alone all that just for one night. And if he cancels...I'd have major ass to whoop. lol

Buuuuuuuuut, being young and stupid sometimes..I'll take a crazy risk here and there. wink As long as I got a working car and some gas money...I could road trip. And i don't mind takin' some crazy fangirls along for the ride. Prince...meet me somewhere in the middle and I'll haul ass to see you! razz

YES..IVE BEEN TO ALL IN NO..starting with purple rain, ending with musicology. approx 9 since 1985? incl .essence & biloxi.

[Edited 12/30/10 1:53am]

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Cool! I surely will wink

And yes, plenty of times he has been to Louisiana. That's where both his parents were from originally wink

My first time seeing him was in the town I currently live in. I was on a natural high plus there was an after show and I got to be pulled on stage by the man himself. Someone from NY was there and took a few pictures. This was 1997. Someone knew me in the crowd and the person asked about me and they sent the pics and the pics were delivered to me. I still have the pics. Camera sucked but at least I have pics wink
