have you ever heard the stuff kids listen to these days? I am almost 19 and while i dont like mainstream music, i have heard it. Britney spears sings stuff like "if u seek amy" which means everybody wants to f--k her. Rihanna had a song about an erection or something.
If Prince was born 20 years later, he would still be regarded as a musical genius. But his material would no longer be considered nearly as shocking as it did 30 years ago.
Besides Prince's lyrics arent offensive anymore to anyone. They are alot more family friendly then alot of todays mainstream stuff. | |

Maybe Prince wanted to expose young people to his music and, in an inspirational way, provide examples of other young people who are iving their dreams? During his 2010 BET Awards speech he commented satisfactorily about the level of talent in the nex generation. | |
