I think the proper thread title would be Boox. Carry on.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Prince a life in Music, a Playlist History by Matthew Carcieri, iUniverse Lincoln Nebraska 2004.

An interesting book that skims most of the major parts of Prince's career over 50 songs ranging from Games to Musicology, its quite good and Mr Carcieri has a sense of humour Referring to Prince as a sweaty hyena panting with sex"

I bought it off Amazon 2 years ago for about $15 NZ (It says US$12.95 on the back)

Some good but dated ones include

Prince a guide to his music by Geoff Brown 1995 Omnibus Books (It has a lot of great Dirty Mind Tour shots in it)

Prince a Pop Life by Dave Hill 1988 (Probably the best Prince book from the 80s)

Prince, Imp of the Perverse by Barney Hoskyns 1988 (Less Good but funny)

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Pop Life by Dave Hill

Although limited by the fact it only deals with his story up to 89 it is a very well researched book with plenty of interviews and insights from those around him.

Prince: the First Decade - DanceMusicSexRomance

Again the same time period by is the book you need (I'm still waiting for the second & third decade)

And finally this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/P...mp;sr=1-12

I know nothing about it but it is due out next Month! biggrin

Yep, i would defintely recommend that book. A brilliant, fun, 'fly-on-the-wall' book about what it was like being in Prince's band in the early days. A great read.

It is only 40 odd pages so I think it might be a music book for the songs from the album so if you want to play Purple rain here might be the music notes!

But that is just a guess
