i think prince fans are happy that prince has had an influence on other artists or that other artists admire his work.

Well that's cool, but not exactly a recent phenomenon.

Info gets noticed and posted, whether it appeals to some or not. Not everyone can be pleased all the time.

whatever Prince might have had you believe in 1986-1988, Camille is a a studio trick that was applied to a batch of songs, including ones before and after that era. he just gave it a name during that period because it was a project and just one more pseudonym in an every-growing list at the time.

of 1992.. (unreleased, unfinished, demo, live stuff included).

I think it's because ?uestlove is a critical darling in the pop music world, and therefore someone whose opinion has more weight than others. That he holds Prince in such high esteem, and seems to really "get" him, endears him to Prince fans.

If Justin Bieber had posted the same list...not sure the reaction would have been the same.

He's not disputing whether it's an actual camille song or not, but just stating the studio effect in which creates camille was used before the camille persona was created.

It's not just him being interviewed, it's a whole article with various artists giving top 10 lists. It was nice to see as I found it more original than many lists on the numerous top 10 threads that show up on here.

precisely. he just hadn't thought of "Camille" yet when he released "Erotic City"

likewise, there's no way of knowing if, say "Crystal Ball" or that 3rd version of "Witness 4 The Prosecution," wouldn't have been credited to Camille if they had been released in 1987.

A solid album with killer tracks: Electric Chair, Batdance, The Future..

only 3 good/bad songs imo : Trust, Lemon Crush and...Arms of Orion

Same goes 4 D&P and TGE, but that's just my opinion.

I felt that your description of a few good songs per album was always my reaction to his albums in the 80's as they came out and I first listened to them. So I don't think anything ever changed.
