I dont understand why some people dont see prince as one of THE BEST musical geniuses of all time! im only 14 and i do know some people my age who like real music..(like prince), and respect him as muck as i do, but then u get this group of people who are just naive, and like music that the artist didnt really even make, and really has no meaning to it, and i dont see why some people like mj so much, sorry to say it but he was a child molester, and a real weirdo, but im not saying that he didnt have a couple good songs when he was in the jackson 5, and alot younger , but he should have NEVER been named the king of anything, especially pop, if anything prince should have! i know prince has probably more fans then mj, but it just makes me mad how some people dont give a crap about the truth, or what REAL music is. prince has made so much awesome music, and entertainment for all his fans, now i think its time for the world to show him how much we care! thanks to all the fans who already do! may you live to see the dawn!

I know right, i am 18 but discover Prince music at age 16. Whenever i tell someone about Prince music, they just say that you are gay, just because i hear Prince songs. another one is that people says that they thought Prince was gay when i told them the truth about Prince. Prince is partly to blame himself though, in later years he devoloped an ego and never had any quality control. He hasnt promoted his stuff very well either.

Still his stock has risen, vh1 named him the #7 greatest artist ever. I believe his stock will keep on rising.

the answer is easy: Prince's music isn't played on tv or radio anymore.

the broader masses don't know what Prince is all about, they probably know about Purple Rain, Kiss and Raspberry Beret.... and that's it.

Prince has always shunned away. He's never had a good relationship w/MTV, VH1 or BET. He won't let ppl listen to his music via YouTube. He's made extremely hard to access his music. The whole war w/Warners has alienated him from most potential new fans. Seems like he has always suffered from lack of promotion due to his own doing (moving to fast). People use music for different needs. Some are very into it and some just a little. As you play an instrument you're probably very into it and are musically minded. Others though, just need music at a surface level, so they'll listen to anything and not worry if the artist made it themselves or not. That is their truth and you have yours.

As MJ's competion, Prince is the King of musicianship, because of the added instrument playing. But his name is already Prince, he is already royal and we can't go and call him "Prince, King of ......." because it wouldn't make sense.

I'm a little sad how you describe Michael. Remember Nina, Michael has three children, also around your age. They don't believe he did it like many others. I am sure it would hurt them very much if people think the worst of their Dad. There are always two sides to every story.

So while one side of the story is that Michael was guilty, what if the other side was the truth and he wasn't? Society is not always kind to its superstars unfortunately. I believe Michael was a good person and I would like to respect him for what he did and not for what he "might have done."

Hey you were not there for the pain and the agony of defeating those charges with Mike...had you studied, the charges were dropped, #1...the prosecutions evidence was false, later the father whom first sued Michael on those charges killed himself a couple years ago.

The second allegations failed because the mother ..already messed up for welfare fraud could not keep her stories together...the stories she told her children to say...the wine was red, clear, yellow...lawd all types of lies. Don't point fingers unless you know what you are talking about.

Prince and Michael are not alike. Get over it.

This makes me very sad because I love them both.

I grew up listening to both Prince and Mike... and they are both my favourite artist. I think both of them are really talented in their own way and have given so much to their fans.

I shall say this and this is always what I say to post like this. I find it completely ok to compare MJ and Prince...they were 2 huge stars at the same time. Its kind of like comparing Brittney Spears to Christina Aguilera. Anyhow, Prince is better as a overall musician, no one can change that.

The only thing that has kept Prince from mainstream is himself, and I think he doesn't care about it. Mj was hyped up and got alot of media attention. That very attention he later came to hate. I still don't believe MJ every molested kids and I totally love and respect him as a singer and dancer. He will always have 3 of the best albums of all time IMHO (Bad, Dangerous, Invincible) and will always be able to win the hearts over of millions with his charm, innocence, and lovely smile. He will never top Prince on a musical level. Prince's body of work can't be matched by anyone, hands down. He is amazing!

If Prince would open himself up more, he would get more fans. However, that isn't everything. He has pulled some crazy stunts over the years and add that to his closed attitude towards the media has put him lower in public view. I don't think it has anything to do with his being gay or not. People accused MJ of being gay too, yet he is still loved. MJ spread his love to all people, Prince has the image of only being interested in so-called "world class beauties." That kind of stuff hurts you in public eyesight.

When I talk to fans about MJ, there is a common theme.."MJ was so loving and innocent." That image Prince just doesn't have...even though I personally believe apart of Prince is loving and innocent..he just tries to hide it. People see Prince has rude, arrogant, and vain...

The reason Prince dosent get the props he deserves is because of racism. The reason you think negative things about Michael Jackson is racism. Dont ever believe everything the media tells you.
