Good days. I get the feeling I wasn't as ready as you for this album but I, as always, became its biggest advocate. Parade is my favourite album but SOTT is I know Prince's BEST album

I feel the exact same way. I know SOTT is his best because it was pure genius from start to finish. However, Pararde is my favorite. It is truly unlike any other album he's ever released.

Hurrah!!! Let's have babies. Not checked your profile/gender/sexuality orrrrrr with american intelligence about your fertility but we can overcome such minor detail. I've even cleared this with Sarah Palin that all is good..!

1999 . I just can't think of anything getting better than that by any artist. I remember back in the day I use to think it was just too good to be made by any human.

SOTT is the only correct answer. the rest is up to interpretation, but since i'm already typing..

1. The Vault is AMAZING

2. PR is good. i hear the soundtrack and i feel like i'm watching the movie. but i guess that's how you're supposed to feel!

3. the love symbol album. i've got a strange infatuation with the continental though.

4. Emancipation.

5. Come

time flies.

I find the trilogy 1999, Purple Rain, and Sign "o" The Times as the best of the best.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

The top tier:

1999--A masterpiece that was better than ANYTHING released that year. The perfect bridge between the Controversy and Purple Rain.

Purple Rain--Possibly the best movie soundtrack EVER

Sign o the Times--One of the last truly "great" albums.

The second tier:

Lovesexy-A potpourri of everything! Joyous, introspective, and funky at the same time.

Symbol-An album that Prince meshed his sound with the 1990s hip hop/new jack/urban sound.

Rainbow Children-A creative gamble for sure, but in retrospect, a very enjoyable listen (minus some of the content)

"Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Without skipping..hmmm, I used 2 skip the ballads when I was younger on almost every album so...

Purple Rain is an album I could/can listen 2 from beginning 2 end,

Only few songs I didn't like on ATWIAD & Parade, same 4 Lovesexy & D&P and TGE.

SOTT is his best imo, but I also skipped Adore & Slow Love.

It doesn't matter how many songs U didn't listen 2 on 1 album,

it's how much U love the good ones.

There's albums I prefer to listen to, but the only correct answer to this question is Sign Of The Times. As the years pass and the dust settles, as we are able to catch our breath and study the world's greatest pop musical genius and his work outside of radio trends and generational influence, I think it will be fairly evident - of it isn't already - that SOTT was everything he was heading towards and, in effect, everything he's been trying to replicate since. It is outrageous art. Most people don't have the mental capacity to appreciate the almost supernatural genius of his work. Truly this man was once tuned into something beyond our comprehension, maybe even his.

yes ...sign o the times was his peak as an artist...i remember getting the album and i had already heard six of the tracks a few days before the release as radio 1 previewed some of the tracks so i knew it was going to be very good but i remember being blown away by how brilliant the album was...it was like he had recorded the ulimate song in each style of music and stuck it all together....the platinum disc hangs on my living room wall as it is and probably always will be my favourite album of all time...

Hear hear, its the best one in my book too, SOTT is just what makes Prince so brilliant and unusual, the rare case of making an album so perfect that even its creator knows it can never be improved upon. But my favourite listening album now is Dirty Mind, its not as deep as SOTT but a lot more raw and funky. The thing it shares with Sign, is the fact it was so far ahead of any one else at the time and just so unique with its sound.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

  2. Sign “☮” the Times
  3. 1999
  4. Purple Rain
  5. Around the World in a Day

Ok so my top 3 favs in order are 1999, Dirty Mind, and Parade but just because they're my favs that doesn't mean I think they're the best. I think the best is LoveSexy, I think it's the best tour too and yet it's still not my fav. tour

We could have big fun 💜

My Top 5 anyway

1. Sign o the Times

2. 1999

3. Dirty Mind

4. Parade

5. Purple Rain

Its predictable really. Brilliant albums are always going to come out on top. I notice no one has voted Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic or Chaos and Disorder up on this list yet

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time
