Well, it depends on who the promo is targeting. It's a weird promo, really. I'm hoping the "parents" part was just to make the (older) people laugh, the ones who really will attend anyways. If the promo was in any way an effort to lure a young person who isn't a Prince fan but listens to "today's" music...it's a disaster in so many ways.
A better promo would have been a blitzing montage of Prince in different incarnations, from different tours, videos, etc. A split here, a blazing guitar riff there, vocals...all at a breakneck speed. Sort of like Michael Jackson's montages, especially the last 30 seconds of the one that ends with "Brace Yourself."
Then again, does it matter? The real fans will be there. It will sell out.
Some of those "real fans" aren't old! I'm offended. What is your main problem?
To whom it may concern: I love you!

Exactly! When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! |

who the hell is doing the talking?... sounds like david hasselhoff
The same person that introduced the acts on the broadcast of MJ's 30th anniversary gigs. He must work for MSG or something.
The promo is serviceable, it just does it's job. |

In fact, it was indeed my father that let me hear "The Cross". Not that he liked it so much, but because he found the song structure odd. I think he still regrets doing that
The promo is reaaaaally cheesy though You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind? |
