Not badly written, just the wrong voice actor, should have gone with someone younger. At least the music is slammin' cool

He's bringing back the Model-C (maybe he has played it live recently, I wouldnt know, but there aren't many pictures post Lovesexy that feature that particular axe)

I love that guitar

He did play his Auerswald guitar live not too long ago, but the one pictured is probably the gunmetal bass as seen in the documentary where Prince is playing Partyman in the studio.

You are right.

I didn't look at the rest of the pictures until after I posted.

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I'm 20, of the generation of people who don't really listen to Prince...

"Maybe your parents told you about him" made me spit because it reminds me of how old and out of place I feel sometimes when it comes to music. Then it gave me a chuckle because I don't think anyone in my generation would go to this event specifically because their parents told them about him.

That "maybe your parents told you about him" line isn't the greatest, but the whole promo has a very epic feel to it.

Prince is so alive . . . can't explain it but there's an energy, liveliness and presence that still impresses me.

I think that if my parents told me about Prince and then I went and listened to any of his 80s output, I would be grossed out that my parents were that anxious about me hearing sexual themes.

I just wish I could go regardless of whether or not I like a promo... seems like a silly thing to whine about, then again, this is the org.

It's actually a great promo and people should remember that it is geared toward the general public and not whiny, overly-sensitive fams. lol

Great footage and little quips in the voiceover...the overall message I got from this promo is that Prince is a big deal.

Well, I for one love the title "Welcome 2 America" Very iconic.

I also like the font artwork and the posters.

Now he just NEEDS to have a kick-ass song by that same name. And please dear lord do not have it sound like another James Brown riff, or a lame Linn Drum track or anything like anything on 20ten or Mplsound. I just hope he "tries" just a little, to be original again and not try and copy something else.

That's what I miss the most about Prince. Originality. That's why i love his 80's work so much. And even after all these years his 80's work still sounds as original as ever. I still find a lot of cool little flourishes inside of them that speak of someone on a roll.

I can't go to NY, but hopefully it's cool and he brings it to Cali.

You guys who "don't mind" this promo are missing the point.

Someone said it best when they wrote something like "If my parents told me about Prince, I definitely wouldn't be banging down the doors to go!"

It's LAME!

Who says that??? It's like saying, "Well ummm... if you've never heard of him, we're sure your parents have!"

I agree that the promo has energy, and it's powerful, and yadda yadda yadda. But I'm also a bit confused because they're promo'ing it like it's a total PRINCE show... when Prince mentioned that there'd be other artists there, and he "implied" he'd be the MC.

So what is it??? A Prince concert, or not! I'm worried that the ad might be misleading, because based on the promo... Prince better perform... ALOT!

And back to that line about "your parents"... I'm sorry... but I'm not backing down. That's the CHEEEEEESIEST promo I've ever heard in my LIFE! And it's not because of the announcers voice.

He's not some frickin' URBAN LEGEND like the Boogeyman, or Jason Voorhees or Freddie Krueger! What the frick!

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

falloff For realz! They made him sound like he was the Loch Ness Monster or Big Foot. Prince is neither the missing link or the 8th wonder of the world. He's just a really talented artist who kicks ass live...no need to make him sound like the second coming. lol 'Maybe you heard your parents talk about him' lol get the fuck outta here with that nonsense. He was just on the BET awards not even 4 months ago...the younguns know who he is and also know that he don't sound like Drake, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, or Justin Bieber so they probably aren't going to be sold by this fuctarded promo.

I am just going to go ahead a state the obvious who gives a fuck if people in their 20s come to this show. We are hearing some of the most awful music ever and I lot of it is being made by people in their 20s and purchased ( or ripped off ) by people in their 20s.

Let's be honest P has not done a lot of shows in the states since 2004 to most young people that was a million years ago so the promo makes since in a way, however if anyone's parents are in their 40s and they do not recall Prince at all from the 80s they must have been on crack back then or living in a hole.

I am sure some people in their 20s will be at the show. Lots of 20 somethings at the 2004 shows and maybe you hang around people your parent's age because they have better taste in music.

The Musicology tour was promoted much the same way, and the crowds were definatly mostly young. At least the show that went to.

Prince's classic music has a youthful appeal that will not change no matter how old he gets. He will always draw the young ones in unless he specifically plays an overtly JW show or esoteric "Rainbow Children" type set.

Here's a better, more interesting promo.

In my best RADIO ANNOUNCER voice..............

Maybe you saw him ROCK the Super Bowl halftime show wearing pink and baby blue.

Maybe you saw one of his 21 sold out shows in London, England, in the commonwealth of Great Britain, which is in the continent of Europe, right here on the planet Earth.

Maybe your Aunt Jennifer did the nasty with him in the Dirty Mind Concert tour bus in 1981, and spanked him on his leopard print drawls.

Now, see what all the lawsuits are about..........

Prince... Welcome 2 America... where we speak Spanish!

A different artist that you don't really want to see every night... and Prince might even perform!

PRINCE... WELCOME 2 AMERICA

I'm not hating on Prince... just the promo!! lol But lordie lordie... it's bad.

I'LL BE THERE THOUGH! lol lol
