He did play his Auerswald guitar live not too long ago, but the one pictured is probably the gunmetal bass as seen in the documentary where Prince is playing Partyman in the studio. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

I was just glad that it was advertised as a Prince concert and not some multiartist showcase show with him as some kind of "MC" for the show. I don't care if they alternate opening acts with the list that was discussed but I was afraid this tour was going to be some kind of rebirth of Sinbad's music festival he use to have years ago. I thought the energy of Controversy looked and felt very high. | |

Well, it depends on who the promo is targeting. It's a weird promo, really. I'm hoping the "parents" part was just to make the (older) people laugh, the ones who really will attend anyways. If the promo was in any way an effort to lure a young person who isn't a Prince fan but listens to "today's" music...it's a disaster in so many ways.
A better promo would have been a blitzing montage of Prince in different incarnations, from different tours, videos, etc. A split here, a blazing guitar riff there, vocals...all at a breakneck speed. Sort of like Michael Jackson's montages, especially the last 30 seconds of the one that ends with "Brace Yourself."
Then again, does it matter? The real fans will be there. It will sell out.

How is this any different than the crap spewed on here on a daily basis? The only difference this time is that Prince is in on the joke! Kind of like he took the n-word back from those who would use it to belittle others. He's admitting that some of y'all have been saying this about him for years.
By the way... see U at the concert! When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |
