I don't think the org is a shithole, for I do enjoy some funny threads over in GD from time to time and I still like talking about Prince's music with people who know what they're talking about. It's just that the fools have taken over...

"The Morning After" off of Lotusflow3r is the only song I've ever heard Prince perform that resembles the style of "Manic Monday" (which Prince wrote and gave to The Bangles in the mid-late '80s)

The beginning of "Compassion" sounds like he wrote a different set of lyrics over the opening music for "Let's Pretend We're Married"

"$" reminds me a bit of "It's Courtin' Time" in the tempo and energy, but don't know if I'd say it resembles it. I'd have to listen to the latter again.

"Dreamer" sounds a little bit like an updated "Bambi" with the rock guitar overlaying that heavy drum beat.

"No More Candy 4 U" loosely reminds me of "Ronnie, Talk 2 Russia" in tempo.

"Laveux" generally takes me back to music Prince contributed to The Time around the first and second albums.

the keyboards on "Hot Summer" remind me a bit of "Shake".

Because your sensitivities are different than other peoples'. The internet is not the same as hanging out at the rec center and, typically, you're going to experience a slightly less pleasant encounter on a forum than you would actually conversing with someone face to face due to the medium and the subject matter(s).

And then there's also people who are internet tough guys, but typically quite meek or pathetic in real life. Anyone with a hint of insight into people can tell who is what.

And as a longtime member of the online Prince community (think around the era of Prodigy and CompuServe, ~1994), I can assure you that nothing is more annoying than someone who just rode in off the Little Red Corvette smelling like banana cologne and wearing a symbol pendant. If you were truly interested in discourse, debate, and conversations with fellow fans, you would be able to respect other people's opinions and you would have the courtesy and respect for your fellow fans to not pull some stupid shit that riles up the cranky old fans like me.

Cuz frankly, Prince is really fucking boring right now and I can run circles around these bleeding heart fans whose idea of a Prince community is everyone conjoined Human Centipede-style while we all watch the Gangster Glam video.
