This crossed my mind too. I hope it has nothing to do with retirement. That would just suck...really bad. I don't think I could stand losing 2 geniuses this quick...I'm praying for a tour or at least a release of 20Ten. Opening back up Paisley Park would be cool too. But the fact that he is doing it in NY, makes me think it has something to do with a residency in NY....

if prince annouces that he is back with wb(4 stars there)

if he annouces a u.s tour beginning with nyc(5 stars there)

if he also annouces that he will obtain all remaster albums and

will re-release product from the vault to be added on all wb albums(4 stars to infinity)

if 20 ten deluxe includes several new songs("its christmas time in the city......")

if prince announces a concert at msg for several nights(ill do a james brown split in front

of my computer...)

and last but not least..if signed with wb please please please select the RIGHT SINGLES to

radio(i would feel like the miners felt when reaching the top....EUPHORIA.....)

The thing is, I still cant beleive that Princes ego still lets him beleive that he is mega enough to warrent holding press conferences!! I personally feel that really the press doesnt give 2 shits about what Prince does!! People have moved on!

He needs 2 wake up and realize that this is not the 80s or 90s anymore, this is 2010!!! Why does he feel hes still relevant enough to do this??? Cant he just annouce what hes gonna do in a TV interview or something instead of holding court to boost his ego??

He's built his own internet called purplenet and will have complete control over everything on it. The main worldwide control centre is the egg building at Paisley Park. The lifetime access fee will be $7,777 and will give the user access to every song and video Prince has ever made.

Obviously nothing will be downloadable but available as streams, with songs at 128kbps and videos with massive compression and most will probably have the left or right audio channel missing.

However, it seems that Dr Funkenberry has heard on the grapevine that Prince is already bored with this project and will pull the plug early in 2011.

I could announce a press conference and hold it in my apartment tomorrow. Of course, no one would come, but no one would be obliged to either.

If press show up, he is, by definition, still "mega" enough to hold a press conference (whatever that means).

It's certainly gained the attention of his fans and started to create some hype, so, assuming it's a marketing exercise (ie. positive news, which I'm sure it is), mission...already successful

People said the same thing when the "Musiciology" tour was announced.

The truth is that Prince is a part of music history and when he makes an announcement, the press will listen. Most of them want to hear him because they hardly ever hear him speak.

my mate dave from the car boot sales says that prince is going to announce that he is lady gaga and he is releasing the album he was born to make called 20ten deluxe and will tour various places that will have him, playing his hits for the very last time, honest guv

yeah you can, it's 4.7142857142857142857142857142857, which sounds like a funky song title to me

he's been stuck underground for 69 days and rescue teams will be sending him up a really long shute which comes out at the apollo theatre, sort of like a rocket, apollo 13-style.

the press conference is to announce his return to the land of the living after having dwelt in the dank dark and humid underworld for so long.
