Sound effects on "Come"

My friend and I were just talking about this today. How did Prince get the sound affects on "Come", where he's... Well we know what he's doing. My friend says it sounds like he was chewing gum? I really don't understand that. Soo, what do you think?

You and your friend are incorrect. It sounds like he was in the middle of cunnilingus

He was just mimicking the sounds with his lips and tongue. Not hard.

I'm pretty sure he went into the studio...... with Tony M. Doing take after take until they got it right.

Real "music" by real "musicians".

He might have gotten hard by the time he was through with all that, though.

Instead of any lyrics. If he should be ashamed of anything in his music and was going to change anything in past recordings, he should start here. I am not a prude, but how he let this idiotic and offensive nonsense attach itself to an otherwise good track,.... and let it go out into the world. This is beyond me. At this point in the 90's I felt Prince had finally lost his last marble.

I still love Come, but this stuff just typifies how screwed up he was during this time.

How is this any more offensive than his masturbating during Do Me, Baby?

Glad he took it to the hilt with this one, but kinda distracts from the really great music. Maybe he could have done a clean version, and then an extended remix with all the pussy licking sounds lol.

But it sure would be funny to pull up to a stop light with this part blaring from your windows. The reactions would be priceless.

Well to me, 90's Prince is when the music wasn't good enough to back up his nonsense, or blunt it in any way. So when the music doesn't speak for itself anymore and he adds sounds that lacked wit and charm, but just come of as dumb, ugly and crass, and when you know the guy making those sounds is in his 30's, instead of a teen or twenty-something, It just comes off even more creepy.

You could roll up with this playing, see some fly honeys, and wink at them knowingly. Sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Oh, I see... so if you liked the song more then it would be okay. lol

On a different note... It seems really weird that you'd be more comfortable with those sounds coming from a teen.

Sure.

I could more easily roll my eyes at the stupid shit of an immature teen than a grown man. And it's easier to be more forgiving of great art than it is for crap, just as some men can initially look past deeper flaws of a beautiful woman.
