Pre-marital sex, homosexuals, rock n roll, a strong lesbian character.....

Hmmm not sure Larry would approve even if Prince did pluck up the courage to ask him if it was ok.

Ain't no chance in hell they would try it. And seeing that their knowledge of Prince is probably only related to the "hits", they wouldn't even go that far. It'll just be the usual:

"Let's Go Crazy"

"When Doves Cry"

"Purple Rain"

"Kiss"

"Raspberry Beret"

"Cream"

"The Most Beautiful Girl in the World"

"U Got the Look"

"Little Red Corvette"

"1999"

Songs like that but never songs like the ones you mentioned. They did the same thing to Madonna and they will do it with George Michael.

I only saw pictures of them doing it (and Lady Gaga) and it just looked ridiculous. Last thing I wanna see is one of them putting on ruffled shirts, a purple jacket, black pants and heels with a curly wig and the pencil thin mustache. It wouldn't look right. disbelief

HE DID NOT DO A SONG FOR PEPSI.

The Library of Congress lists Prince Rogers Nelson as the sole songwriter of the "Uh-Huh!" song.

As I understand it.... Prince incorporated the existing jingle into his song. But why the hell would he bother, unless the idea was to submit it to Pepsi for them to use somewhere? You think he would just incorporate a jingle from a soda advert into one of his songs for no reason?

Timmy I'm not sure what you're talking about, orgnote me.

Really? Think about it.

Prince could....no, Prince WOULD literally make millions from this, without having to do anything.

He doesn't have to appear on the show. He doesn't have to do anything other than agree to let them do it and I imagine they'd send him a list of songs they would want to do and he would most likely agree to some, but not others.

Since the second season is starting next month and all the episodes will have been written at this point, if he agreed to let them do it for Season 3, which would begin airing in fall 2011, he could time it with an album and tour to REALLY maximise the sales potential. If he did another commercial album with a major, like 3121, he could have a hit off the back of it with the right song.

Honestly, given the fact that this has come directly from the CREATOR of the show, he's basically saying "Hey Prince, I want to give you a shitload of money. Do you want it?".

We're talking about the man who did a soundtrack for Batman. We're talking about a man who let The Simpsons record the song "My Name Is Bart". We're talking about the man who did a song for Pepsi. This really isn't that much of a stretch.

One of the most popular shows on TV wants to use his music, thereby exposing it to a whole new generation, both the Glee soundtrack albums and the original artists recordings sell a lot after the shows have aired, there's a ton of PR in it that could easily be utilized to promote whatever current project/tour he might be doing at the time......and you guys think he wouldn't even consider it? That's insane. Prince is a smart businessman (most of the time).

Sure, I wouldn't put money on it definitely happening, right now. But to think that Prince would just totally dismiss the idea of doing it, is not giving him enough credit. He's a smart man. He sees the opportunity it presents.

I really like the show.... they do such a good job and while watching it I couldn't help nut think man Prince has so many songs that would fit right into this show.

The problem is Prince would mess it up. He would insist that they do some obscure song or songs that aren't good rather than the classic pop songs that he has written over the years.

Songs that would be great on that show:

When U Were Mine

Little Red Corvette

Take Me With U

1999

Elephants & Flowers

Diamonds & Pearls

But P would insists on songs and try and make the show his vision which of course would mean he would chose songs that people who watch the show wouldn't actually like.

It would be nice but P would ruin it and hurt himself in the process

Leave no legend unheard on Glee!

Ryan Murphy has expressed an EXTREME interest in featuring both Prince and George Michael hits on his mega successful show, Glee.

At the recent Eat Pray Love premiere, Ryan gushed over how much he loved the man behind Purple Rain, saying:

"I want to do something on Prince. I love Prince. I think he is just a genius, and I would love to feature him and his music on the show. Everything about him is dreamy and fantastic, and more than that, he meant a great deal to my life growing up. So I'm saying, 'Prince, help me out.' "

Can you hear him, Prince?! Get on the horn and give him your blessing!

As for using good ole drunken Georgey, Ryan confesses he like to use his music from the 80s, but not unlike Brit-Brit, he's not so keen to have him on the show. (No one blames you, bb!) Ryan explains:

"I don't think George Michael will be on per se, but I'm a huge fan of George Michael and I love his music…so we are gonna do something with George Michael's music."

That's sounds safer to us. We loves us some Faith, but we don't love the idea of tiny Chris Colfer having to lock his dressing room door and watch his ass every time George is around!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yo Prince! If you're reading this..... DO IT. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT.

Play your cards right and you'll have a whole new generation of fans and sell a whole lot of records too.

You did American Idol...... this would be a MILLION times better than that.

DOOOOOOO ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

What record label are the glee soundtracks on???

I've only seen bits and pieces of Glee, so this idea might not work in the context of the show, but given that Prince loves to mix things up wherever he goes, maybe he could talk to the Glee people (are they Gleople?) about a special episode...

Lots of shows have done a musical ep at some point, but since Glee is always musical, what do they do when they want something extra special?

Perhaps there might be a point in Season 3 that is the culmination of various storylines and that could happen within a double episode or some such ("movie-length") which would feature a mix of Prince hits (ie. the ones everyone knows), combined with completely new material, written by Prince, sung by the cast, specifically relevant to the storyline.

Ideally, he could make an appearance at the end to sing Purple Rain because presumably they'd want it in there and I'd hate for anyone else to do it (again).

That way, they could release a CD just from that episode, everyone could make lots of money, we get new material from Prince and both Prince and Glee could pick up a few more fans...

...maybe. cool
