38 and have been a Prince fan for 31 of those years! My brother got the Prince album and I took ownship of it and I was hooked. Seen him live for the first time when I was 11. It was easier to be into an artist back then, they actually had careers!

35. I like this thread WaaaaAAAaaayyyYYyy more than the "Young Prince fans" thread. I was 20 years older than all those kids, but I skew on the young end here!

But you know you've really matured when people stop being "old" to you. 50 something? 60 something? That's not old, it's just a different place in life than I am right now. Eventually, if we're lucky, we all get there. It's just a matter of perspective.

Oh, and I've been a fan since 1983. My older brother bought 1999 and then got me totally hooked when he picked up Purple Rain. Like a lot of people he checked out after ATWIAD, but my love of Prince's music never died. I guess a lot of us who got into Prince at a very young age have an older sibling to thank for that!

36 will be 37 in Sept.

into prince since age 10.

on the same note my mom is the same age as Prince,the same height and also was born in MPLS! I know crazy huh?! smile

( I know it doesn't mean anything, but it was still fun to realize all this about my mom while growing up as a Prince fan.)

yep, I'm 37, my brother's 43 and he had lots of goodies in 1984 from Prince, the Time, Sheila E and I was always stealing his music secretly. Seems my mom knew Prince earlier, around '80-'81, always talking about how he crawled over the floor in some sort of leopard tanga pants, acting nasty, it kinda scared her and attracted her. So I owe my interest to them both. My brother indeed checked out after ATWIAD, fool.
