A missing track from 20Ten? http://www.youtube.com/wa...tube_gdata
Near the end of the video, you can hear what appears to be a track missing from 20Ten. This snippet sounds better than anything on the album and I'm quite sad it isn't there.
Thoughts? [Edited 7/31/10 7:17am] Falling leaves will appear to them.. Like slow-motion rain..

1) This has been posted before
2) Misleading title
3) Boring | |

What the hell are you talking about?
This is far from boring. The track sounds amazing...
And no, it is not a misleading title. The advertisement was promoting 20Ten and it played this music. Yes, I will admit that I saw this posted once before, but nobody really had a response. Now, I'm looking for one.

I get it. You wanna drag the joke out. It's just not funny, but you're going to try and make it happen anyway.

best.advice.ever.
Yeah what was tha song anyways. Sounds like classic prince.

It sounds like a Prince-sound. Not even necessarily Prince himself or from the most recent CD.

When this was first posted, an orger said that it was not part of the album, just stock music for the TV spot. The orger was sure it was part of a stock music comp he had heard before.

U cannot possible be serious.

Stock or not, I'm serious.
Sounded great to me. (And I'm not the only one.) Falling leaves will appear to them.. Like slow-motion rain..

it sounds ok, but it's not Prince Prince 4Ever.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
EXACTLY my point! | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
you guys make me laugh, are u guys in the know to state that it's not prince? point is, sure it's something funky, and being an advertising for prince's new album, it would make sense it's prince. I so want someday all show-offs would be proved wrong...

Someone gets it. Thank you Marco.
Wildly assuming it's not Prince even though his product is being advertised therein... Seems more than a little odd. Falling leaves will appear to them.. Like slow-motion rain..

I have this crazy theory that when 20Ten eventually gets a US/international retail release, it'll be a fuller record. It's a bit of a short album as is; some of the songs seem to be oddly structured, or end prematurely. Plus, at the end of Laydown, Prince states "Euro and soon Amero" before the song abrubtly ends. Foreshadowing?
Perhaps the later, more mainstream releases of 20Ten will have more songs.
Being that the current incarnation is free and seemingly promotional, it'd make sense.

No no no, please do not lump any orgers in the same camp as ernest. It is just no fair, this is uniquely ernest.

A lot of us around here are hoping your crazy theory is correct. But it is Prince were talking about. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

I remember when the instrumental clip of TNBALM was posted on that mplsound.com page or whatever it was, a lot of people thought it wasn't Prince
The ad was funny though. Thank you for your post, I hadn't seen this before.

An interesting theory, and one that I hope is true. I have to admit that the way "Beginning Endlessly" begins is very strange following "Compassion."

It's hokey funk-lite stock music that's used in crap like car commercials and cheap lawyer ads.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
well, next step would be providing the source of this info and links to other advertisings using the same funky instrumental, otherwise you're just assuming.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
And we all know where assumption leads us...
Falling leaves will appear to them.. Like slow-motion rain..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, you all assumed it was a Prince track when the ad never said it was, it doesn't have Prince's voice, it doesn't sound like Prince etc.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Again, considering it's advertising from the new cd, and most of all, the previous advertising for the cd in the belgian ad has beginning endlessly playing in the background, one would assume it's a prince song playing. I think we are all talking about assumptions. No one stated "that's prince", but it would make sense, some guys here stated it's not prince, which would make less sense (but at least, if u state something, provide proofs). Cheers

I have no access to proof otherwise I would have posted it by now

LMAO, your quote on YouTube got flagged as spam.
At any rate, there are 67 missing tracks on my 20Ten CD.

There's a ridiculous amount of unneccesary hating on Ernest right now. I was one of the multiple Orgers who had heard this music library funk track dozens of times before, specifically on a Comcast commercial. I understand why you might think it sounds like Prince, OP, because it kind of does. But some people, myself included, know library music when we hear it.
Further, almost all advertising up until this point has had Prince in the forefront. The radio ad made it clear that you were hearing tracks from 20ten. The Verizon commercial for "Guitar" made sure you knew that this was a Prince track and you were being sold Prince's image and music via the commercial.
It becomes hard to believe that Prince would tack on his music at the end of an advertisement for his music that focuses more on recent social/political events than his actual music. I think that the newspaper company was given creative control when it came to the commercial, granted they say certain things approved by Prince's camp that would provide a clear advertisement of the album. So, this newspaper company, or maybe the newspaper company's marketing or PR company, came up with this commercial on a tight budget in a limited amount of time. We know that Prince is picky about who he lets use his music. It doesn't make sense that he would let this company take his music and put it in the commercial when he probably didn't even know what the finished result would look like.
SO, whoever made the commercial had to throw in something funky...a little earworm that'll stick in your head for a minute and give you vague hints of sounding like Prince, reminding you why yo udig that kind of music and why you should go out and buy the newspaper "THIS SATURDAY ONLY." It's a way to get a vibe across without paying money for the real thing and sell the idea. Hence, library music.
I'm through. | |

Eh, YouTube is on the bottom of my list of things to be concerned about.
The music is still just stock, corporate schlock...and not Prince.

You can bullshit all day and gulp your Hater-ade, but I'm right. It ain't a Prince song. Others here seem to understand that, so either you think the same of them as you do me, or your intentions are purely personal and unfounded on me, or your kind is just blind to the truth. I'm going with an unhealthy combination of all three, given the source. Either way, it ain't a Prince song. Never has been, never will be.
