I was reading thru everyone's post and saying to myself why would we wanna play something morbid and something that REMINDS you that I'm dead. 'Life can be so Nice', sometimes to use that briefly but, I would want what friends and family that came to my wedding to enjoy that I've returned to Allah/GOD/The Creator and that I'm no longer gonna get sick or hurt or be in earthly pain.

I've already told my sister what I want played at my funeral. I'll probably have to make a CD for her myself because some of it, I want mixed. I'd better make it while I'm still young though.

Anyway, I want the casket brought in during the intro of "Let's Go Crazy". When the 12 Inch version goes into the breakdown, then I want "Thunder" to come in on top of it and "Let's Go Crazy" to fade out. Later on in the funeral, I want "I Feel Sanctified" by The Commodores and about halfway through it, I want "Holy Ghost" by The Barkays to come in. Later on in the funeral, I want "Jesus Is Just Alright" by The Doobie Brothers played. At the end of the funeral when they wheel the casket down the aisle and into the hurst, I want "Do Not Pass Me By" by MC Hammer played.

I want ass shakin' at my funeral because it's supposed to be a celebration of going to a better place rather than a depressing event.

That's a nice sentiment. Funerals I've been to have been anything but a celebration. That's why I've vowed never to attend another. But, I'd go to yours (I hope that doesn't sound morbid )

Ok, in all seriousness, despite my dumb earlier posts, It would have to be "Free." In one of the most errie moments of my life, when my dear mother passed away in 1984, I only knew the Purple Rain album, but somebody had copied 1999 on a tape for me. It was like something in my soul told me to play "that slow song with the funny sound effect at the start." I remember it being the most wonderful and tearful 2 weeks of my life as I went from hearing that song for the second time, to about the 300th time. I have associated the song with death ever since, but in a good spiritual way...finding freedom in leaving this earth, moving on 2 the other world. I still have no idea what drew me 2 play a song I did not even know the name of....but that is just how it happened.
