hard rock version of Computer Blue

Prince have alternate version of computer blue with more heavy guitars and

raw singing,he sings:what the fuck is going on.

it's much superior then relised version and compared to it album

version sounds like soft pop

can anybody give more details about this version ?

This version is 12:29 long

full of very heavy guitar riffs and lots of solos

and Prince's voice sounds like Hendrix

It says Computer Blue #3 12:29

it dont have Wendy is the water warm enough speech

it start with flanger effect prominent as the guitar intro kicks

the beat is slower then the released version.

Guitar riffs are hard and heavier then anything he did before, there are few guitar solos.

Prince vocal is very raw

i tell you released version sound like swwet pop compared to this

it can easy be on first Funkadelic album

Hellsa funny that the cover has the WB logo on it. lol

The live version from First Ave in Aug of 83, I believe, has some super heavy riffage on it. Rawk! Love that version. And I swear I have a version that's like, 7:42, or really close to that. It's actually my favorite studio version (edit). Probably the same as the 7:30 version listed on that cover.

LOVE this version of the song...although I could do without the last few minutes. I use this version as a gateway drug for all my "hard-rock" friends. I totally love ALL versions of this song and listen to them all at different times for different reasons.

I have a shitload of versions of this. Some are studio sessions, one or two from St Louis and some from Sunset Sound. I think one of the ones from St. Louis would be the one you're looking for.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

There are no more details about it to give, it is what it is, an alternative version among many other alternative versions.

Like most of the people here I guess I have a lot of unreleased material (thanks mainly to the internet) and I do have a copy of the track in question. But what I can't listen to is poorly recorded music. To me it's like listening to early pirate radio on AM. The poor sound quality does not make it an enjoyable listen.

The 80s are over. I'm forty next year. I expect more.

Mine too! So I'm glad you guys know which one I'm talking about. It's clearly an edit, but the production is stellar. Sounds finished and ready to go, just remained unreleased.

You're ri right, which I'm like O_o about!!! How how how did this happen? Does anyone know? I want to assume it's because a record could only hold so much music.. but STILL. That 7:30 Computer Blue, is the shizzzz (I can' see how the hallway version could get cut, cause that's just WAY too long), the Baby I'm a Star, the Beautiful Ones.. ugh.. so yeah basically every song. AND we missed out on Electric Intercourse! Wrong, I tell ya! lol
