I love this whole album, & this is a really killer track.

I just voted for this song in the love song poll.

I always liked the song. Then my g-friend(wife now) told me she loved the song especially the part about Prince talking about the girls hand( even though the post has the word as head?). I gave it another listen and I think it is amazing as well.

As much credit as Prince gets he can still be considered underrated as a true overall musician.

To reach the place where the souls go; where the tears flow...beautiful. The French call it the 'petite mort'; Prince compares the sensational out-of-body-experience to space flight. The spiritual release, the brief period of melancholy and trancendence one can experience when sex isn't only a physical but more importantly, a spiritual connection.

This song is EXACTLY what I miss about today's Prince.

The universal remix is one of the Prince songs i have listened to the most according to my itunes playlist. Still love it after all this time!

Exactly. It's not about the cursing that missing as was stated on another thread, it's the man's sassyness that was just out of this world.

Great song, one of his best from the 90s. It has that sensual sound to it and he gives a great vocal performance.

Kind of reminds me of Smokey Robinson on the chorus & it's a very beautiful song that I heard years back when I was chiefing hard!

As the song ends, the background vocals have this really cool effect on them that I had never heard before I listened to the song with only one speaker setup... it's cool!

From what I understand, Prince collaborated with someone in regards to the drum programming on that record. As you can hear, the drums on that record and the production on that record, are phenomenal and fresh.

I still think he needs someone in the studio with him these days!

The Universal Love remix is probably some of his best lyric work. Its a great song. I like the Funky Stuff remix a lot, too. I don't care for the album version at all.

From what I understand as well, Chronic Freeze had a lot to do with the drum programming on that record. I remember loving that record as a kid, I was 15 when it came out. My mother, brother and I were visiting family in India when the record was released. We came back to Toronto the day after the album was released and when I listened to it for the first time, I thought it was amazing!

I also remember reading a review in a local magazine called 'Now' and the reviewer described it as an awesome Prince record but a throwaway record in that he wasn't going to promote it. She did say that even when Prince puts out throwaway records, they often have so much more artistic depth than most artist's greatest records!

The imagery, music, band, Mayte - everything was on point! I loved it and still love it!
