god yes, it's a great album. It seems almost a crime that i only paid £1 for it.

I don't think people are listening to this because I absolutely love this cd. Still trying understand the hate that some have just thrown its way. But some of the die hard haters have actually said that they like this album. I think this needs to be played on the radio more than alot of what I hear everyday. Prince needs to release this in America and just let more people hear it. Wish that he would tour with some of this material here in America. It has just a funky vibe throughout the whole cd. I think that it is straight up HOT!!!

I'm not understanding the hate either. I don't actually listen to it, honestly, but the last time I listenned to it, it didn't bother me all that much.

Prince since Musicology hasn't really released anything terrible (and yes, I'm including Planet Earth in that group ). Sure, there are songs I find dreadful. But overall, I'm glad we're way past the tedius 'plastic years'. The stuff now, I would call his "autopilot years"

..and that's ok with me most of the time.

i think it's natural to listen to his new releases and have a "wtf" response coz that's

how he is...he leaves us wondering. from a personal take though, i love this album

I consider myself a BIG fan and I don't really love it. It's not horrible, but I don't really care for it.

Maybe it will grow on me. It's currently mixed in my iTunes playlist. I find myself skipping over "Compassion", "Laydown", and "Beginning Endlessly".

That cannot be further from the truth.

I said on my radio show that 20Ten was "appetizing", and that if it were a meal, I'd leave very little on my plate.

I asked everyone on the panel to give me a one word summation of the album:

Fenwick called it "okay"

Johnart called it "yummy"

Squirrelgrease called it "good"

Wyldflow3r said it "sucks"

I think it's his best in a decade. "Future Soul Song" is one of his top ballads since "The Love We Make". Yes, including "The One". It's up there with "The One", for sure.

Excellent? No, but better than anything in the past 10 or 12 years? Yes, indeed.

I am enjoying this album more with each listen. I'm generally a fan of this Musicology+ period, particularly 3121 and Lotusflow3r. This one so far sits probably 3rd for me, ahead of Musicology (which I like) and Planet Earth (which is patchy).

I absolutely ADORE it. I almost feel like he just stripped down, stopped trying so hard to be epic and top the last project or whatever and just create. None of these "muses" and carrying on he be doing sometimes. Just good music. It's not Dirty Mind, it's not 1999, it's not like the earlier stuff. It's Purple Rain-ish but not even really. It just FEELS good, u know?

I am surprised how much I like it. After Purple & gold, Cause and Effect and Hot Summer, my expectations were LOW. But not only is it way better than those tracks...it ranks up with Lotusflower and 3121 as his best of the decade imo. The tracks really flow well. I even like Everybody Loves Me and Lowdown which after reading the crap reviews on here I again didnt have high expectations. The former is obviously a fun little track that I understand people might not like for its simplicity, but I think that is the point...all I know is the thing gets stuck in my head...one hell of a hook. The latter is just plain funky! Purple Yoda...too cool baby.
