The only soundboard that isn't on this list (as far as I know) is the new 1986 Minnesota Music Awards show that came to light recently "Love Or $" on Akashic Records. http://thedigitalgarden.o...money.html

Otherwise, I think this is up to date.

Thanks for the list squirrelgrease, however, i am not sure this list is up to date.

I notice it does not mention the "One Nite Alone In Copenhagen" aftershow soundboard (Oct 26th 2002 - 75mins).

Also missing is the "Musicology Tour Staples Center L.A March 29th 2004."

Not sure if there are others missing or not. It seems strange that soundboard recordings seem to be rarer these days. Or are they? Maybe i have just been missing them. But if they are rarer now do you know if there was a specific reason for this? Or is it just a simple case of Prince tightening up security on such matters?

Thanks for pointing out those missing shows. I think the bulk of the list is from 2005, but as you pointed out, Prince runs a tight ship these days regarding the soundboard engineers at the venues he plays, so there hasn't been much to update. Sure, there are uncirculating soundboard shows that slipped through his grasp, but obviously they're few and far between or we'd be seeing them.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

On listings like these, does that mean the show is only 5 minutes long, or that there is only 5 minutes of soundboard recording available?

So if you take out all of the 5-10 min clips he really doesnt have that many good boots worth collecting. Thats too bad. Thanks for the list. I have been looking for a list like this. I cant stand the crap sounding boots. I will make sure I have the good boots.

I agree. I used to be very fussy when it came to live bootleg recordings, only the most clear, pristine soundboards would do, i never used to even attempt to listen to audience recordings.

Then after hearing a couple of audience bootlegs, i began to open up to them more. Some are terrible yes, but then some so-called soundboard recordings are terrible too. There are audience recorded bootlegs out there that are a match for some soundboard boots.

The latest example is the "Le New Morning" boot. The taper had some kind of technical problem, the recording was then "fixed" post recording, and despite all that the result is..............very good sound quality indeed.

My advice would be to keep an open mind when it comes to live recordings, you don't want to overlook a gem by mistake do you?

wink

It also looks like the list is missing the Oakland Hit N Run show from 2000...

On listings like these, does that mean the show is only 5 minutes long, or that there is only 5 minutes of soundboard recording available?

It's just the available soundboard bits. The clips may be from full-length concerts. For instance, the Live At The Aladdin DVD audio, which was sourced from various performances are considered soundboard boots - but only individual songs, because no audio-only was officially released.

A guy managed to get the soundboard recording from the Cannes aftershow this year. I don't know if he paid for it or not but my friend who was there saw him get it. Then the guy told my friend that he wasn't gonna share it online, that it was for himself and a friend of his' sole use, but that he might consider making profit out of it at a later date... So it might be sold somewhere at some point... Or maybe it will never surface...

I can't understand these people not sharing mad
