Everything EXCEPT for News, Xpectation, Chocolate Invasion and te other NPGMC cd(I cant remember the name of off the top of my head) 2. my favorite of all time is The Gold Experience, diamonds and pearls, chaos and disorder and the symbol album. sorry i know its more than 1 but I cant pick between these 3. became a fan in 1984 | |

1) Quite a few - Batman, D&P, Gold Experience, 3121 2) Varies - but D&P holds the most significance for me in terms of stuff that I associate with it. 3) Interested around 87 -89 but fizzled out and got really interested again and ever since 1991 | |

1) Most of them.
2) The Gold Experience (that whole period is my fave - 94-96). What a fun time to be a Prince fan: tons of bootlegs leading up to Gold's release, plus Exodus...and then Emancipation. Nothing can top that time period for me. When I think of Prince, I think (first and foremost) of 0(+-> and Mayte and the NPG.
3) 1990, Graffiti Bridge. I liked Batman the year before, but it was Graffiti Bridge that made me a fan...then Diamonds and Pearls sealed the deal. The Gett Off performance on MTV just floored me. | |

I like it, but none of the albums that I rate higher have a track as horrible as Everybody Loves Me. Even Animal Kingdom from The Truth isn't as bad as that song. Putting Everybody Loves Me on 20TEN was about as good an idea as someone putting mud flaps on an Aston Martin.

So my opinion was obviously not what you were looking for? The Vault to me is a very strong album with a cohesive jazzy vibe that I really like. Rave In2, with it's inclusion of superior extended versions and remixes, plus the classic song Beautiful Strange makes for a much better listening experience than the retail Rave Un2. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

I can certainly see your point as that song seems to be a huge issue for a lot of fans across the board and the reasoning behind their distaste for The Vault.
Personally, I can enjoy it for what it is - a remake. Prince's remakes are hit and miss. The Purple Medley is refreshing, yet 1999: The New Master was unnecessarily re-tooled. I actually prefer the recent remake of In A Large Room With No Light to the circulating boot. The unreleased remake of We Can Funk(see Box O Chocolates) outshines the released Graffiti Bridge track in my opinion. 1) There are a few but I'd say The Love Symbol is definitely a better album.
2) Has to be SOTT
3) Bought the Hits 2 collection on a complete whim on Boxing day, 1993. Went back the next day to pick up The Hits 1. Followed quickly by Parade and ATWIAD on cassette from the bargain bins and my first CD was The Black Album, followed quickly by Come. And that was just the beginning!
