I have always wanted Prince to do an album of Polka influenced music. The tall dude who plays the harmonica could help him get this done. Just think about how great this would be.

I'd also like to see him go a little classical. People often consider Kamasutra his "classical" album, and while I find some of the compositions interesting, it's kind of killed by the dated "midi" orchestral sounds he used then. I've always said I'd love to hear this album played entirely by a real orchestra and not half real/half midi.
In recent years, he's done:
the 'jazz-fusion' thing: TRC, Xpectation, NEWS etc.
the 'old-school rnb/soul' thing: Musicology, "Satisfied", "Somewhere Here On Earth" etc.
the 'rock' thing: Lotusflow3r, "3121", "Fury", "Planet Earth", "Guitar" etc.
the 'minneapolis/retro-80s' thing: MPLSound, 20Ten, "Black Sweat" etc.
So yeah, I think it's time he went a little classical... Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I'd like to see this too. I loved the funky, soulful, organic feel to TRC. It would be great to hear another full album along those lines without the lyrical concept (which I actually didn't mind as much as some others here ).

this would be interesting, with a lot of screaming from Prince.

Solo Piano, another One Nite Alone-esqe album will suit me fine, perhaps with an orchestra, a chamber piece in the middle?
He's too old now to go Dubstep. Besides, it'd be ridiculous him pandering to the fratboys........if he steered clear of the fake-Jamaican patois and adopted the Ripopgodazippa voice he could do Reggae.

I think the best thing would be to take him out of his comfort zone.
I would like to see him hand over production for an album, but thats never going to happen, so I think maybe the best way would be to take his instruments away.
He should do a Prince composed big band album. An orchestral opus, showing off his best instrument of all, his voice, particularly before he gets old and it weakens.
I'd want it to be price querky. Think "Wedding Feast" and "Solo" as well as the more obvious treatments like "Old Friends for Sale". .

I just want him to keep music that sounds like Prince.
That can come in various forms but I want it to contain the core elements of the Prince sound, and for most part he's being doing this.
I don't want anybody else to produce him.
I don't want an acoustic album and I really don' want a covers album.
I would love a vault release or an album that included some reworkings of vault songs I'm familar with, I do believe he probably regulary visits the vault and uses tracks anyway.

The early 1980s stuff that's in the vault. That way, it would be that signature Minneapolis Sound free of exposure to today's influences. Andy is a four letter word.

JAZZ and prince ............ "Not to sound cosmic, but I've made plans for the next 3,000 years," he says. "Before, it was only three days at a time."

It's not like he's been doing that his whole career ! Symphonic/orchestrative rock would be amazing. Bring on the keyssss "Not to sound cosmic, but I've made plans for the next 3,000 years," he says. "Before, it was only three days at a time."

I would like to hear a serious house album from him. Some late night, deep, progressive type stuff. Maybe even some minimal house. I've always thought that would be interesting. There's actually a ton of more than decent unofficial house remixes floating around the dead internet. Also some really bad ones.

If he is going to do another jazz album I would like to hear him try it with a bit of teeth. Most of his forays into jazz have been too boring and new agey for my tastes. Xpectation probably comes the closest to what I would like to hear from him but I think it would be great if he got a full horn section and used an acoustic piano rather than the various synth sounds that he seems to favour.
