I think Prince could do a killer suite of Motown type songs, mastered to sound like Motown. In a way the the exchange of character voices in "Girl of My Dreams" gives me a motown vibe. And the obvious New Orleans vibe.

Ooh Baby Baby by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Smokey is so sweet and sorrowful in it, but I think a Prince version would be completely different. Strip away the sweetness, add that Prince roughness and I think it would be more true to the actual lyrics.

I've always loved Cloud 9 from The Temptations. Like to see Prince rock it out a little.

'Never Can Say Goodbye' - J5.

Slowed down, new arrangement ala 'Little Red Corvette'. Room for screams. Oh yes.

oh lawd, that's one of my all time favorites. I would love to hear Prince cover that in some strange Prince flavor (since it already is a motown song there's no need for Prince to do it Motown style)

I'd like to see him cover songs of non-Motown artists like Phil Perry. Some classic soul.
