"Do U Lie" Agree on all but his one. Do U lie is sophisticated to be here.

"Right the Wrong"(just for the western voice)

Agreed. When Prince is being obviously simplistic/childlike/or naive some people can't stand it. I think it's fun.

no no no! Dont drag my beloved Do u lie into this.

Completely agree with the O.P.

I only heard this song once. After that I had to remove it from the (very few) subsequent listens to the new crap album.

Fortunately, I don't even remember the music.

Only good as a 'tongue-looser' at Guantanamo.

I think it's awesome.

And if the TV show "Glee" gets ahold of it, Prince will have a #1 hit on the pop chart.

That's right, the Org rules clearly state that you may not give opinions on Prince's music until you write, perform, record & produce your own music.... Oh, wait! No they don't!

Good, 'cuz I can't carry a tune...

That said, I keep thinking he should have saved this tune for Happy Feet 2, but then again, Song Of The Heart was much better than Everybody Loves Me.

Sorry for the double post!

[Edited 7/25/10 9:23am]

Funny how a song about Love calls for people to spew such hate. Hmmm?

Best post here. Well said racer. Can't believe how much the OP has written. Very sad.

^You're very right.

We should all be forced to receive a lethal shoot while sitting on electric chairs inside a gas chamber.

Then, in case anything fails, a team of eye-blinded shooters should be ready for us.

But then again all that won't prevent this song from being a steaming pile of shit.

I really like it, it makes me smile.

If you hate it that much, burn a copy of the cd without it on there. That's what I did with the horrible shite that is Sea Of Everything and now I don't have to listen to it anymore. smile

maybe Prince was joking around with this track, i dont know

its not my cup of tea either, but i still respect his right to record what he wants

i guess if we dont like it we can always skip it and listen to the other songs ?

LOL, if you're listening to the CD, then you have to skip 68 tracks to get to the next song!

lol i'm one of those horrible worm people who downloaded it from the net.

i just call up whatever song i want to hear or instantly skip the ones i dont like.

guess thats one of the ups to mp3 instead of negotiating with a CD.

but really, i can appreciate Prince's sense of humor, if thats what this song is...

this too shall pass

As I opened this thread, my daughter came running through the room singing "Everybody Loves Me". She's only heard the song about 3 times too.

I like the song myself - as the lyrics say "there ain't no shame in having a good time" which is what this song is.

Seriously Guys, I love Prince as much as you guys but you cannot be defending this shit, its "whacker than a mother fuck" - dribble, garbage, trash, and if i was trying to convince someone that Prince is great and this song came on i would piss my pants.

cringeworthy and now beats Grafitti Bridge as my number one fucked up song by Prince..Congrats "ELM" number 1 with a bullet to the top of the shit list...

Exactly! I don't understand how people can say that this song is humorous or tongue in cheek. There isn't one single thing about the music or lyrics that could possibly be considered clever or witty.

No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

The entire Brady Bunch/70's sing along vibe is a clever musical-vocabulary joke in my book, and the self deprecating simplistic narssicism message is funny. Imagine if Beck had put this on an album. That's the kind of humor.

This song is worse than Purle and Gold. DEFINATELY the WORST Prince track of all time. Cheesy. corny, stupid and amatuerish sounding. Prince could do so much better. What a waste of a song.

This song is such a kids song. I think that it's Prince's answer to " Everyday People", or "Jeromiah was a Bull Frog". It would be fun if Prince made a kids album, I have said that all along, but he needs to tell his fans "this is my kids album" like Ziggy Marley did.

I think that Prince has eyes on DJ Lance's job. I mean he likes to wear orange, he likes to wear tight fitted outfits, and he likes funky head gear/hats. shrug

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.
