Electric Intercourse VS International lover

as for my opinion! I would go with electric intercousre, cuz I just Looooove his funky/sexy voice in that song! but on the OTHER hand, international lover makes me go wild inside! cool it's really hard to choose between these two sexy songs!

what do u think? smile

Unfair comparison. "Electric Intercourse" was supposed to be where "THe Beautiful Ones" is on Purple Rain. So the better VS thread would be those two.

I know that, but it doesn't have to be those two just because of what it was supposed to be. I chosed these two songs randomly.

lets compare 'partyman' and 'my name is prince'.............. wait no! 'my name is prince' wasn't considered for the batman album. silly me !

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

They're very different songs for me. "International Lover" is a classic Prince formula ballad, whereas the PR era stuff was him taking it up a notch.

I choose both then.

Never was a fan of IL, Although I find the lyrics humorous and somewhat clever.

I'd pick Electric Intercourse over the 2 choices. I'm with Ernestsewell, the better thread would be the Beautiful Ones vs. Electric Intercourse.

IL is one of my favorites, so I choose that. I've never liked EI that much.

Electric Intercourse

International Lover is a classic, but Electric Intercourse is a little more soulful.

I stll think that Electric Intercourse should have been given to Morris Day.

The lyrics were sung with intensity... but it's downright comedic.

I feel some kind of love for you

I don't know your name

This is the kind of love that takes two

I want you and I'm not ashamed

That's "drunk" Morris in Purple Rain singing to Apollonia all the way!

Think about it. Purple Rain is Ultra Serious. The Beautiful Ones is Ultra Serious. Electric Intercourse is a comedy!!

"I don't know you, I don't even care??"

I LOVE that song. International Lover shows more range and verbal gymnastics, but Electric Intercourse is my preference.

... and yes... I think Morris would have KICKED ASS with this song, with his style and personality.

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

"International Lover" is in my top 10 of Prince songs all time. Little compares, to be honest.

Prince doing what he used to do best - partnering humor and sexuality.

I'd definitely choose Electric Intercourse. International Lover is one of those songs I never really got into. It's a little too over the top for me.

And for the record, I'd take The Beautiful Ones over both of them.

The vibe of 'electric intercourse' is more sensual than 'international lover' ....I will never understand why he didn't release this gem?

Electric intercourse and International lover both does something to me. At the end of IL, he's ranting and screams and bull shit talking gets me excited square THEN on EL from the moment it comes on Im in the mood! Its like im moving my body slowly and feeling every word he says. I love both and to ask me to choose between two of his children, I can't do. boxed

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead.
Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me, either. Just leave me the hell alone rolleyes

International Lover was perfect for 1999 it was similar in style to If the Kid Can't Make U Come with the spoken parts but not as steamy

Electric Intercourse though is just that ELECTRIC, the live rendition on that fateful night of all nights

It just has a certain intensity that puts it above IL 4 me

For me... if we're talking about the recorded versions I'm going with IL...

HOWEVER, if we're tombout the live version of EI from 83 then EI wins HANDS DOWN. "...your technicolor climax is at my fingertips..." Um... Really P? Um, hell to the yeah!
