'Irristable Bitch'. Here he played the bass with a unique technique called 'rumbling'. It's something he developed himself and it sounds deeply, deeply funky, kind of like an earthquake. 'Cloreen Baconskin' is one of the first tracks where he uses this technique. You can also hear it on certain parts of 'Anotherloverholenyohead'.

It's weird, I saw people on here talk about the bass in La La, Hee Hee or whatever it's called, and went back to listen to it, but I didn't hear a bass solo as I think someone had suggested it contains. Could it be I'm just listening to an edited version?

I like the bass on Everlasting Now, especially the very atonal rhythmic part where it breaks down in the middle.

Days Of Wild live at Glam Slam. The one where he says

'what the fuck is that' when Sonny does his thing.

Later on Prince plays the one-eyed-bass and really
tears the motherfckr down. It's so loud I just can't
believe it. After 8 years, I still play this one at
least once a week.

From which year is this? Do you know on which CD it is?

It's on one of the Glam Slam gig cd's. I'm not sure what
date is was recorded. I think it was june or july of '94

It's 13 minutes and about 30 seconds long and includes
portions of "the exodus has begun/hair/7779311" an others.

Yeah it's from Glam Slam Miami. I've got the video of it. It is pretty wild and very funky1

:O :O :O :O :O There's a video of that show? :O :O :O :O :O

Is that his birhtday party?! (like.. his first birthday as a symbol or something like that..)

can´t really remember that version was that funky... was it?

don´t what where the show was held tho...

That's most probably an edited version, because the long version (or not the long but the real version, because the other one is shortened) has bass solo!

You mean it has THE bass solo!

I'm surprised nobody has yet mentioned 'Calhoun Square'...

New Position is of the hook as far as bass is concerned.

Days of Wild and Joint 2 Joint are another 2 that spring to mind

Face Down from the JOTY Oakland show was kick arse. There's a vidoe of that show from 98 when he brings up the little kid to the stage & says "this brother hasn't even moved & then speeds up the tempo & just kicks it w/ the bass guitar. Also on Peak the Technique from 94, very funky..

Yeah that's right. Prince was playing at Glam Slam Miami and there was a video link up with Glam Slam Minneapolis and Glam Slam LA. It was his first anniversary of being 0(+>
and during Days of Wild Mayte sprayed a big red "1" from a can onto his white tunic!

How about "Purple Music", I love the bass playing on that. Starts off with synth, but changes to real bass after the intro.

How about the bass playing in "Do Me Baby"? Exquisite is the word to describe it if you'd ask me.

Yes, and can you believe that he did not include that solo in the final released extended version???
If I could play that, I would release a single with nothing but this solo!
