Prince can rework any track to be amazing so I don't think the setlist has much to do with it anymore. I mean LRC is sooo over yet the rework is AMAZING.

Now yer talking. The encore could be a 40 minute xylaphone n bagpipe jam on Jughead with the Game Boyz bustin some extended flows. A naked Prince could appear on the big screens filmed from the dressing room, either masturbating into one of Tony M's socks or towelling the sweated out hair dye off the back of his neck. Maybe both, he has two arms, the bastard.

I have two dream setlists.

1) Emancipation. All of it. Very little of this album was ever performed live and it's one of my favourites.

2) A setlist comprised of my favourite songs from Musicology, 3121, Planet Earth, MPLSoUND, Lotusflow3r and 20ten. Maybe five tracks from each album. Sure, people want to hear the hits but I feel like since 2004 Prince has made many good-great songs but they are rarely played live. I think a lot of folks might reevaluate his newer stuff if they heard it live. I know it's from an earlier era but the version of "When I Lay My Hands On U" from Monteux kills the studio version. I think the same might be true of his 2004-2010 output.

I'd actually rather Prince just play what he really wants to play. Ditch the hits and go with smaler venues and play a selection post WB. wink
