I initially thought it was a standout but now it's just OK, it picks up in the second half but then that half wavers on and on. It's real lazy overall with some flashes of some funk here and there.

delirious

My shot at the lyrics...please be kind smile

Never mind the birdfeed honey

Just tell me your name

You won't have it long if I

get my way in this game

My reputation precedes me

Call it claim to fame

They know me around the world

You want me just the same

Why should you be satisfied with just heaven and earth?

When you look around there's so much more to the Universe

Maybe every shining star is just another part

If you and I could ever open up our dirty hearts...

Oh, open up baby...

All of the same minerals and chemicals of space

You carry within your womb

That's how we got to this place

This might seem a bit serious

But if it turns you on

Come with me now let's get nice

Til serious is gone...

Why should you be satisfied with just heaven and earth?

When you look around there's so much more to the Universe

Maybe every shining star is just another part

If you and I could ever open up our dirty hearts...

Oh, come on...

Get nice...

Love is much too small a word

For what you'll feel for me

If you ever let me explore your anatomy

You and I lost in each other

Prisoners yet free

Come on darlin' let's get down

To the Beginning Endlessly

Let's get down...Beginning Endlessly

Come on...can't you see that I want ya...

Ohh eee...

Come on...can't you see that I want ya...

Feel me now...

History is full of praise

for another's history

more remote than the one that came

before both you and me

Left alone with our devices

whatever will be will be

A brand new story in the making

Beginning Endlessly

Love is much too small a word

For what you'll feel for me

if ever you let me be

let me be your man

Oooh baby

understand

I wanna, I wanna

be your man

Get on down...

Ahhh, oh, oh...

And so on - super cool music to take you home...

Enjoy...

More I listen to this, more it seems you can only listen to this while driving in your car but if you listen at home you probably be like "NEXT!" lol

I kind of dig this- the drum rolls and synths are fun. Dunno how it will hold up tho. A bit monotonous after a while.

Why isn't this song first? Jus' sayin'.

Noooo! No Lolita. There is nothing about any of the chords or melodies in this song that sound ANYTHING like Lolita. Maybe the drum pattern a bit... if it has to. lol

Probably the funkiest song on the album, just perfect, better than perfect, could listen to it 500x without ever being tired of it. A+.

I agree it could be a single. It could definitely be a club banger, too. Imagine it late at night with the lights low after a couple of more upbeat jams. It's for sure my favorite track on the album. It should have been the first track, though. Add about fifteen seconds to the synth that starts it and fade it up from silence to that kick drum start. Then put Compassion after it (although I still wouldn't like Compassion lol ).

This song alone makes up for anything else this album may lack.

An epic synth funk stroke of genius that only Prince can pull off.

This song's a keeper.

Once you really realize how good this one is, u almost want to laugh.

on my first listen, with headphones, this one had me sitting there with that weird smile on my face

that's a combination of joy and a sense of pride at prince still being able to pull it off like this. this

is a great, healthy prince song.

reminds me slightly of an updated, more worked out version of "magnificent", which was my favo

song from the whole musicology era. the synths sound so good.

and falloff at pickle's "make a bitch wanna two step" lol

lol @ the weird smile...I caught myself doing this listening to the CD today!

Alamine

the lyrics and the vocal and that synth give this song a slightly dark feal

something very haunting about this song, very "there are others here with us"

another standout on the album

that ending vocal before the vamp, I could have sworn I heard the narrator from TRC in there

"Love is much too small a word for what you feel for me." line is on some shakespearean shit

boy, this site has alot of lazy listeners

I totally love this song!!!!

BUT...

You guys all hear a synth interpolation of Don Henley's "Sunshine Grill" in this, right? To me, that's what makes it even more awesome. It sounds like that synth sound sampled and run through some effects.

Brilliant either way.

Can't get enough of this song. All of those who said 'that feeling you got back in the day' with Prince will never return in his new material has been proven well and truly wrong diddly wrong wrong IMHO

A total classic. Epic synth funk!

Constantly replaying this. Pure funk, a summer song that's gonna sound good when it's hot outside when you're driving your car with your windows down, blasting your stereo. cool

It's 33degrees in the UK right now. I never thought I would be so excited about a Prince song again.

I'm v happy

Same here mate.

I sat back in the boiling heat this morning with a dumb grin on my face thinking 'F'ing hell, I never thought it would be like this again'. But it is.

Maybe it's just me but during the vamps, I'm hearing a slight reggae tone in Prince's vocals especially when he says "FEEL ME NOW!" lol It also hints of a reggae feel with its drum pattern to me or something close to Caribbean or maybe it's just me. confused
