bad press is better than NO press.

only if ur relying on other people's attention to feel like ur worth something. ultimately i dont think the 'any publicity is good publicity' slogan is true. look what happened to michael.

This is a non story. It's something people are gonna make fun of for a day or two, and move on to something else.

I don't know why this story has been talked about so much.

It was an extremely benign statement.

JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

cuz it was an ignorant thing to say. he was speaking for himself only, not all music artists. yet he stated his personal opinion as if it were a universal fact. it is not.

he gave up on the net cuz he cant see the solution to his 'problem', he's too blinded by the dollar and his stance against 'internet piracy'.

last time i checked the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, as soon as music is made public it belongs to the commonality.

these are universal principles which remain hidden to the egotistical eye and the smug mind.

if he returns to the net in the future he will be laughed at even more, now he's stuck with nowhere to go except live shows and whatever CD distribution method he comes up with next.

he has successfully sealed himself into a dying world while members of the new are downloading his music for free online.

this too shall pass

I can only imagine the reaction from some former fans when they hear he may sell the CD to stores from Warner Bros.

Unfortunately the statement has not really given him any props from a lot of folks, mostly jokes about him still being around. "I thought he faded in the late '80s" was mainly what I got from some folks.

Others were surprised he was still alive and some made jokes about "Al Gore is not happy with this news", you know that running joke about Al Gore inventing the internet?

Again he probably could care less but this is sensationalism at its best. And he's already being mocked by comics. He may be mocked on SNL too for this. I'm kinda sensing that strangely enough.
