Need to update on the comments section:

"Frankly, my dear, I think Prince is over."

"Are you collecting unemployment insurance yet Prince?"

"Wow.

What hubris and arrogance.

As a small contractor, I don't get paid in advance.

Nor do I whine about it. I just do my work.

Why should some niche noisemaker demand money upfront?

He's acting like a toddler."

"ROYALTY SPEAKS; I'M CANCELING MY INTERNET PROVIDER AS SOON AS I CAN."

"Prince??? Prince?!?! Says the 'net is over?!? First of all, how many people even remember Prince? The 'net is over?...talk about the pot calling the kettle black."

Ah, let me step in. A lot of people remember Prince. He is still one of the geniuses of modern music, beyond his verbal gaffes. Spat on

"Precisely. Prince, The Thing Formerly Known As Prince, Princess, Diva, whatever, is being quite the shameless hypocrite."

"

Sounds like a cranky old man.

And "advances" are a very antiquated way of dealing with the music business. Why should a man of Prince's resources require an advance in order to produce his music? Why not just produce it himself and reap all the rewards. It's not like the necessary technology is beyond his means.

The only reason an artist like Prince should require an advance is if they feel the music will underperform and they want to stick someone else with the bill."
Aww, shit, this person gets a gold star from me. No doubt. He wants other people to pay for his fuckups, but is surprised that they are a bit steamed when the albums tank. lol

I can't believe this bullshit is still in the news. I don't have an opinion on what he said one way or another. I guess it shows that he's not as irrelevant as people might think if such a benign comment can generate such a reaction.

Yeah, he looks out of touch, but this really isn't worth discussing for more than a day.

Especially since he said this months ago.

BTW, commentors on blogs aren't necessarily the smartest bunch of people.

I mean, every blog you go on, there's always some genuis going FIRST!!!

It's funny but see people claim he's irrelevant YET they're talking about him still. It's giving him press regardless of our feelings about it. So I guess it's true, any publicity is good publicity. lol

Perhaps most chilling on the CNN version of this story were the comments expressing surprise that Prince was still alive.

It's ridiculous that this is getting so much attention. Prince has done much, much more notorious things in the past few years to deserve this type of response than a four-word sentence, but I suppose with attention spans becoming increasingly short and the culture of lusting for celebrity gotchas, it makes sense. shrug

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Hey, With all my heart...I do respect your comments! But...

Some people confuse "reality" with "truth", cause what is true or false is independent of what we think is true or false as individuals, so "truth" is relative and subjective, on the other hand "reality" is everything that is and has beign, whether or not it is observable or compressible, so I guess popular belief isn't "reality", belief is a psychological state in which an individual holds a premise to be "truth", but "truth" is relative and subjective so with end up with "popular belief" been a exercise of liberty of the mind but not necessary the "truth" and even worse, let's not confuse "liberty" with "libertine", that's someone who abuse of their freedom.

To make the story short, YOU FAIL wink and you have the right and privilege to do so.

Well this is how the current media has turned into, a shock value fest. confused And Prince is just adding fuel to it regardless if he meant it in the context they think he meant it in.

I read all the way through the 10th page but I just can't take anymore..the part that really bugs me is how ignorant some people are. Whether you are commenting positively or negatively, you should always know your facts..the people saying that he doesn't know anything about the Internet or that he is an idiot are just pissing me off right now..don't they know why music via the Internet has come to be?! I mean, really???!!!!!

I also believe that he has come to this conclusion that the Internet is no good because he has learned so much by reading scripture in actual books rather than on a computer screen. I think that he is just, once again, trying to share his knowledge and peace with other people, but it's just not going over the way he planned.

Nothing he has planned recently ever go the way he wants or thinks he should go. He exists on a different planet than we do. We may go left and he may go right. I just watched Kevin Smith's description of how he dealt with Prince. Honestly if you try to make sense of what he says or does, you would have a problem trying to deal with it too. It's easy to say that whatever Prince does is OK because you're a loyal fan, but when you see it literally, it could lead a different reaction. Prince thinks everyone KNOWS what he means. Information he sends always get miscontrued but he never goes out of his way to correct it. Like EBONY's title suggested in his article, he leaves us in riddles.

"The internet is completely over"?

Doesn't me mean "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince" is completely over?

In fact, the guy doesn't even have a pronounceable name. A few years ago he changed his name to a an Egyptian symbol.

And know he tells us the internet is over? And some people are actually taken this gibberish seriously.

Basically, Prince peddled sex. All of his fans were in to recreational drugs and casual sex; that was the guy's message. All of his backup singers and band members appeared on stage half-dressed.

The man was a parent's worst nightmare. Teenage girls would go to school in lingerie because of this character.

The whole idea of the Prince "Revolution" was to have as much sex and do as much drugs as you could before 1999 which explains why all of his crowd is on dialysis or waiting for kidney or liver transplants.

everybody has their own reality and their own perception of things..even though I'm a 16 year old girl, I seem to have to same views as prince on a lot of topics..i'm not just saying that it's okay because I'm a fan, even when strangers do things that would get a reaction out of most people, I am able to see the way they see things..maybe i should be a little more provincial and just go with what other people are saying, but, like prince, I'm not going to say something that I don't truly believe in..and I truly believe that I have absolutely no idea where I was going with any of this..sorry to waste time smile
