Why are you so worried about it?

You think the past year or two is the first time Prince has put a harmonica in his music? Did you forget about "Baby Knows"? Did you forget about "Girl O My Dreams", or "Thieves In the Temple", and many others? Bet ya did.

But Ernest - Drake would never use a harmonica. Isn't that who Prince is supposed to emulate/collaborate with?

here's a radical idea..why don't we pass judgement AFTER Prince has actually performed the shows?

Yep ... I was a lil annoyed that there was a harmonica player in the band but, cat has passion and did his thing ...

Lets all just calm down, i can't really see Prince giving too much space for the harmonica, i don't think we are going to be hearing 10 minute harmonica solos in the middle of Purple Rain.

Bitch you crazy! I thought the use of the harmonica in "Dreamer" on Jay Leno was fantastic! He's obviously going to use it sparingly, and he's used it very rarely in the passed so it'll be a nice change.

The Harmonica made Paris go crazy last year!

And he was only on stage for about 3 songs or something like that.

I'm more concerned about the number of support acts at the Werchter gig

The harmonica was one of the few things I liked about the recent Paris shows.

Yonnet is only an update on a common Prince trope in his tours--like Najee or Candy or Maceo. Not saying he is artistically on the same level, but serves the same function as far as constructing a show--his soloing provides a break for the main artist/band, gives a chance for wardrobe changes and the like, and adds a unique twist/element to the overall presentation. It's a kind of brief sideshow and rarely if ever becomes an overwhelming presence. If it so bothers you, use it for what P and the others use it for--to take a bathroom break
