No. Not at all. That song is HORRIBLE. Whenever the video came on MTV I felt ashamed to be a prince fan. There were so much better songs on the symbol album than this piece of crap. And I remember that this song stopped a wild party crowd from dancing at a big club I used to go to back then, and it emptied the dancefloor within 30 seconds. After a minute the DJ stopped the song, played "groove is in the heart" and the party went back to normal. And the people there werent prince haters, they later danced to kiss and alphabet street. It was this shitty, unfunky and absolutely ridiculous song that killed the flow.

I really don't like most of Rave, High/NPGMC era, Musicology, 3121, or MPLSound but other than that I can pretty much stomach anything.

Some hates on this list are obvious. Others I can understand, even though they're some of my favourite songs - Life Can Be So Nice being an example.

Anything before 1988 I think you have to have a good f-ing reason for disliking though!

I usually skip the entire PR album. It's not that I don't like it, I'm just tired of hearing it. Strangely enough, I still listen 2 the b-sides from that era.

There's not a single Prince album that doesn't contain fillers/slightly boring tracks (to my ears, of course). Example: "Take Me With U", "I Would Die 4 U", and "Baby I'm A Star" on "Purple Rain"; "It" or "Slow Love" on SOTT; etc. I wouldn't say they're bad songs, though.

Sometimes, it feels like a song doesn't belong where it is on an album. Example: "Love Machine" (an average song) right after "Joy in Repetition" (a masterpiece). I still wouldn't say "Love Machine" is a bad song.

"Arrogance" is no kind of grade A material. It's a sore thumb on that album the way "Jughead" is on D&P. I took it (them) out of iTunes, and I never miss them.

I forgot about "It". I have never really cared for that song and consider it a weak point on SOTT.

Imo. there's no weak song on PR or SOTT.....

and I could add: Dirty Mind, 1999, ATWIAD, Parade & Lovesexy to that list..... Prince albums with strong songs all the way through.

NewPowerSoul isn't a bad record. It's a bit dry w/ the drums. I think Fenwick & I talked about this once with Emancipation, and how much warmer, and wonderful Emancipation would have been with real drums. I think the same holds true for NewPowerSoul. It's almost like a disk of demos. With live drums, and less programming overall, it could have been worthy to be called a New Power Generation record, but as is - not so much. It's just a Prince record.
