Which DVD would you prefer

ok, we all want Prince to put out some high quality dvd product. My question is would you prefer whole shows like the 1986 birthday show in Detroit, the Lovesexy tour or a compilation of his "most stellar" performances such as Bambi from Tokyo 1990 among others. AND would such a dvd be separate from a "Best of Prince on TV" dvd? just curious

I'd prefer a complete show that doesn't circulate as a high-quality bootleg.

21nights, Coachella, Montreux2009 or a decent ONA-show (not Aladdin, it's not representive imo)

Have a look at 'The W2A: Euro Tour Song Survey' http://prince.org/msg/12/362417

A full show from any point in his career would be welcome. But i doubt we will get one anytime soon.

nod Incredible shows. That Houston video needs to be releases as well from the Controversy Tour. I'd love a great copy of a Lovesexy show, preferrably Los Angeles. I wasn't a huge fan of the Nude Tour stuff. Sometime 'rushed' about it.

Act I and Act II would be stellar as well. Such a great time period as he headed into the 2nd phase of some of the best material he ever produced.

I'm with Mikey. I'd take a FULL show of just about anything.

My least favorite would be Musicology in terms of multiple viewing potential. It would be wonderful to see/hear the first few times, but I would not be excited about a greatest hits tour enough to keep watching it over and over.

Other than that, I'd gladly take anything from the first tours to ONA.

ooh, wish list time!; [ although the bootleggers pretty much got all bases covered!!]

1] Musicology debut tour [in LA] - already got it from a boot but love the masses to see P dropping his guard and let his emotions / relief come out when the crowd sing to LRC = AMAZING.

2] Lovesexy aftershows! - take your pick - Campden full version perhaps?

3] 1999 - any killer shows including the Time support footage!

4] Indigo / 02 - the final aftershow with Amy Winehouse [3 hours of pure joy!] , perhaps the opening night gig [he openend with Purple Rain already!]

Jeez where do you stop!.

I also think that seeing an official dvd release of stuff like The Undertaker, The Sacrifice Of Victor, 3 Chains O Gold, and The Beautiful Experience would be handy.

It really is an endless list.

I would prefer the concerts over the music vids. The videos would be cool but he's best when he's on the stage performing. Nothing compares to live melting guitar solos & his crooning voice when he's really feeling it. Even when he starts playing on the drums it's just usually a fun show w/ him. I'd be happy w/ any time frame of his tours from the beginning of his career through his current work. He's had so many opportunities & he still does... It's never too late but sooner would be better. pray

Give me any one of them! Preferably the one at Paisley Park, with Wendy, Lisa, Susannah, Jill, Mavis, George, ...

It will never happen, but the Minnesota Dance Company show from 1983 at First Avenue. It was multi-camera and pro-shot, so he could do it if he loved us. beg

good ideas i didn't know there were such SPECIFIC well known shows that people would like to see.

i think it'd be great if we got full shows AND well-compiled one-offs. if his desire is to "maximize" this profit, that's one way to do it.

For me personally, I would say Parade Tour Rotterdam 1986 - the second Prince concert I attend.

Purple Rain Tour Houston 1985 would be cool as well. And Musicology Tour Detroit.

I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

I would want all the shows I was able to attend on DVD:

3121 Las Vegas

Musiciology

Paisley Park 2009

7.7.7. Minneapolis

I'd want those first and then there are a few shows that "we've" discussed that I want. The first 20yrs of Prince & The Revolution (The ORIGINAL NPG) and so forth.

I may be mistaken (I have been before on here...since I'm just discovering all these "new" wonderful P compilations!) but isn't there already a stellar DVD complete version of the Lovesexy tour called Lovesexy Uncut? I know that there is a professionally filmed edited version out but I don't know if the Lovesexy Uncut is from the same show filmed in Europe. Can you experts shed any light on this?

I've seen the televised version on DVD but not the full - I'll have to investigate.

I'm pretty sure the full concert is not circulating. The performance of Soft and Wet popped up some years after the televised and laser disc had been out.

i have a pretty good quality dvd of the Lovesexy tour from Dortmund but this was NOT "officially" released. the artwork and credits are poor copies, and even with the quality of the film (it was professionally done), u can tell it lost a gradation of clarity or two being a copy. I don't know if it was "uncut" but having seen the Lovesexy show in Detroit, it seems to be complete as I remember.

I know there are probably a million variations of that release, but the one I have is called "Livesexy Uncut" by Fullasoul. It is from the original unedited tv broadcast and has different camera angles than the official release. It also has the full, unedited spoken part by Ingrid Chavez in the midsection, which the offical release didn't. The quality is truly EX.
