Prince copenhagen 1990 Hey.
This is the first time I write something here.
In 1990 I worked as a houseman at The Angleterre hotel in Copenhagen. A 5 star hotel. Prince was about to arrive, and my job was to make the Royal Suite ready for him. He didn´t want a bed, but two box mattresses on top of each other. He also wanted purple flowers all over the place. His hairdresser back then, Earl Jones, had a big cruch on my uncle. He was the hotel manager back then. My uncle told me later, that Prince arrived in the backyard in a thunderbird with thick windows.
I just thought U should know.

Cool story, thanks....
Too bad obout the short concert at Gentofte Stadium 1990, I was there, a very bad experience...... people were "dead" not cheering at all, Prince was playing in bright daylight this summer evening, outdoor stadium, no atmosphere at all. The Batdance song was not good, it just didn't work.
I have seen Prince about 17 times 1987-2007, believe me.... Gentofte was: bad, and not in a good way. Prince 4Ever. ![]()

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

He could have just asked for a step ladder for the regular bed. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The Prince and the Pea? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I usually do not care about such trivial things as this, but why the hell did he want two mattresses on the floor? I'm dying to know. Was he just being an awkward little shite? Or was there a good reason for it?

I knew of a guy who worked as a floor supervisor at the hotel in Edinburgh that Prince and his band used when Prince played the city in '93. Prince people had been in touch beforehand with a list of instructions for Princes arrival on the day of the gig. One of which was that Prince wanted a grand piano in his room to use for practice. One of the hotel lounges had a baby grand, so a 6 man team took a large part of a whole afternoon, the day before his arrival, to get this piano from the lounge into Princes suite. Prince and his entrouge arrived in the early afternoon, and after staying in his suite for two hours, was taken to the venue for soundcheck etc. Prince did not return to the hotel till late in the evening, long after the gig had finished. He then stayed in his suite another hour before deciding that Edinburgh was not where he wanted to spend the night, and left as quickly as he had arrived. I wonder if he even touched the piano?
