I've said elsewhere Ross is an imbecile. Cool if he is getting Prince (just texted my mate at aunty to see if that rag is correct!). Goodbye and good riddance to Mr Ross - drawing a huge wage when others at the beeb are being laid off, redeployed or culled. The man should just grow up and f--k off.

On tuesday he'll be in Linz if I am not mistaken.

I think this is Tuesday 15th June, rather than Tuesday 15th July (Linz) - the last Jonathan Ross show is aired Friday 18th June.

This is the third time I have posted this here. The Ross show is 25 episodes, episode 25 airs on 16th July.

THE SHOW DOES NOT END IN JUNE.

PA Story states Prince is singing only.

Prince is said to be singing but not doing an interview on the final send-off, which will end Jonathan's long career at the Beeb.

This makes more sense.

Obviously there would be talks before hand, but JR's style is so NOT Prince's - the jokes, put-downs and sitting in the green room stuff, not to mention coming out of stage serenaded by the 4 Puffs & A Piano lol - Prince just isn't cool enough with his image for this kinda stuff. Love to be proved wrong though!

Great news any way. smile

Exactly what I mean about there being talks before hand - no doubt Prince's folks would have do's and don'ts, etc. Prince is a strange cat though, much more formal than Madonna.

I think it depends on the guest on how JR behaves, if the guest is a closed book like Morrisey was it would be a boring yes no interview, that Morrisey one was painful to watch, but he's had some big stars on there, but i can't see P hanging in the green room, unless it was an amazing A list guest list that night.

I'm so excited i think a little bit of wee came out.

Yeah Madonna is a bit more laid back when it comes to intruding in her personal life, but i did see her give JR the look a few times like to say dont go there and he well backed off. Prince will give him instructions not to talk about this and that, but seeing as its the last show ever JR may let rip and go for it 100mph and not giving a damn what Princes says just for the wow factor. so its gonna be a very interesting interview indeed.

this will be a first, right? Apart from the Sunday Show (where he didn't chat), it'll be his first chat show appearance in the U.K.

Let's hope it's worth the wait. It all depends which Prince turns up, I guess. As long as he performs, it should be cool.

He did do an interview with Kevin Greening in 98 on BBC 2 around the time of the Mel C interview , Cafe De Paris gig broadcast. KG tried to get P to tell him what to call him and P kept changing the subject, i'm sure it's out there somewhere.

what would be priceless, would b alan carr in the Prince fancy dress costume he wore on his new years eve tv show this year, (felt tip pen drawn moustache and all !) lol

J Ross was pretty cool with Madge and Barb's Streisand, so should b fine with P.

My concern is with P's choice of what music 2 play ....

this is an opportunity 2 show "who's the daddy ?", thats 2 good 2 f#ck up

How about a link to this story from the BBC?

Not some newspaper trying to sell copies.

Show us where it's said by the BBC.

yeh, i think the show was 'Ozone' or something, it was P and the whole NPG band sitting backstage, with Kevin firing questions, (p had the same bizarre 'braided' hairstyle he had per4ming 'come on' on Leno).

'nit picking' i kno, but would u call that, or any of the other innerviews he has done here, (like with cat deeley in 1999/2000) strictly speaking, a 'chat show' interview tho ?

To be fair to Ross (and I can't say that I like him very much, so I'm not defending him blindly), that's exactly what he has done. As soon as he was able to get out of his contract, he did.

Russell Brand was able to get out straight after the Andrew 'I've never been so busy' Sachs witch hunt, because he was only contracted by the BBC to do a radio show, which he did because he enjoyed it, rather than because he needed the work.

edit to add: At least we're safe knowing that it's a show Graham Norton CAN'T take over because he's already got a chat show. phew!

No, they're definitely not chat show interviews in my book.

To be brutally honest, I'd rather there wasn't an interview and he just sang a couple of songs. I always cringe when he's interviewed, especially these last 10 years or so. All the sterling work he does by performing live comes crashing down with talk of chemtrails and family names.

We'll have to see though, if he's on top form and having fun, it should be great... I think he and Ross are more likely to clash though.

That's what happens when you go and live in another country - you miss really important stuff! I'll have to have a look for it - never even heard of the interviewer.

I thought he was a cool chap. He was a radio 1 DJ for quite a few years, most notably co-hosting the breakfast show with Zoe Ball. He got 'outed' accidentally on air by Mel B during an interview and then the BBC kinda hid him away without trace after that.

He did the interview with Prince for the Ozone and wore some very odd boots. Oh and after he said that during the interview, without thinking, the touched Prince's shoe whilst talking to him. Prince didn't flinch, but he felt his foot wriggling inside his shoe. Funny what you remember, isn't it? Sadly, he died a couple of years ago, I think it was drugs related. far too young sad
