since world cup means just about zilch to me I'll substitute tix to the superbowl with the patriots playing vs Tix to a Prince concert..... dang...that's tougher than I thought it would be...ugh...I don't think I can pick.

Patriots.

if it were anyother team...Prince

You need to take time out to get into this game ......I bet my car you'll love it just as much as US football .....maybe more

It's the largest sporting event in the world - FACT everyone will be watching it ....it's sad that the US don't join in more , you've got a good football/soccer team! biggrin

sure...the last thing I need is another sport in my life. lol I'm really not that into sports to begin with...if it's the patriots, celtics redsox or bruins that's about all I can handle. smile

Ah ....you see it's not a sport "football" is life, drama, a play, a good book, a play.....

The phrase "The Beautiful Game" is a synonym for European football. The Brazilian Portuguese expression Joga Bonito (to "play beautifully") parallels this phrase.

Shorty for the good of your health please get into Soccer/Football - World Cup ...You will fall in love with it...

US football is too Technical, Stop start, it's just a game .....Football is life, sex, passion....

Trust me on this once you watch the World Cup your eyes will be opened to a new life.... razz

I'm English, and I don't care much for football. I'd actually laugh if the US beat England this weekend just to see everyone bitch and complain.

I want Brazil or Argentina to win.

This'll test your loyalty! - if your country made it to the world cup final [USA purple heads really need to stretch your imaginations here!!] and you were offered a ticket to see Mr. P on the same night which would you choose!.

In my case it is England [although my £ is firmly on Argentina to win it!!] so the football final would win by a mile, it's once every 4 years, have seen P 30+ times so there's no competition!.

P.S. I really do think that the USA will give England a really tough time on Saturday night - my money is on a draw.

I like watching World Cup soccer. I root for the US but I'd go to a Prince concert first. However, if it was the Superbowl or Prince...Superbowl.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Well, I'm from Wales and the chances of us ever getting to the World Cup final are probably equal to Prince playing as our goalkeeper!

So, there's no question that if Wales ever did make it to the final, I'd be watching.

Romeoblu

World Cup final without a doubt.

In 1990 I had Prince tickets on the same night that England Played Cameroon in the quarter final.

I decided to go and watch Prince, it was a great show but I've always regretted missing that quarter final.

Now a real dilema would be the choice between England winning the world cup and prince opening up the vault.

Seeing as I'd rather be kicked in the nuts repeatedly than have to watch an entire soccer match, I'll go with Prince.

Easy.

The final match will be on TV sso can be viewed any time.

P shows aren't typically televised and being present is even better....

It depends, if it's a greatest hits outdoors show, I'd definately go to the world cup final (with Belgium in it, that would impossibly cool nuts)

It's a coincidence because I just entered a contest in Belgian paper where you can win a 5 day trip to South Africa including safari and tickets for the WC final but then I remembered that I had tickets for the Prince gig at Werchter... but still, IF i win this contest, Prince can wait for a while biggrin

On the other hand, if prince could prove to me that his upcoming show would be as intimate and as good as ONA in Paris + aftershow at le Bataclan or any other show at the same level --> definately Prince

Maybe I'm weird but pretty much all sports just seem like low-brow entertainment to me.

I'd probably take a concert of an artist I only mildly like, over going to a sports match.

I mean, is there really any contest over which has more emotional depth - sports or music? lol

Not that it's some sort of zero-sum contest and you can only like one or the other, but for me, it's like there's SO much amazing music in the world that sports just doesn't register on my radar.

are the WC tickets GOOD?

If so I would take them and sell them.

I have seen prince enough times. I am not sure if I would go if it was free (unless it was front row)

it assumes you really like soccer and seeing your team in the finals is less likely to happen again anytime soon.

I say go to the game

front row is crap, always best higher up on the half way line!. no selling allowed!...unless you were to spend the proceeds on a great P bootleg!

For England to get to the final, a miracle of some size will have to occur. Therefore Prince wins the choice, plus the footie is on TV, I can record it and watch it later smile

Sorry Prince but it would have to be England in the World Cup Final, especially if it was this year. They've only ever got there once and not in my lifetime...hell man, the first finals in Africa, just saw the SA vs. Mexico game - what an atmosphere (the sound of the vuvuzayla - amazing! a country so up for it! wish i was there even for a group game)...I've seen P twice, would love to again, no lie...but the World Cup Final, it's the only thing bigger than the FA Cup Final...England would lose on penalties of course.

Good luck to Bafana Bafana, and my thoughts are with Mr Mandela and his family at this time.

Well Canada will never play in the World Cup final so Prince all the way. NOW if its Prince or the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup final, I'm probably going against Prince on that one.

That's easy. Since all sports bore the hell out of me, I would definately go to the Prince concert. Hell, I'd even go to a dog show before I'd go to a sports event. lol
