All of them contain some of his greatest pieces in my opinion. My favorite is N.E.W.S.
I'm starting to think all his future albums should just be instrumental. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

A good idea. At least until he's got something to say. small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

Eric Leeds 1st cd. Followed by N.E.W.S. but I really dig them all.

You forgot Kamasutra and Times Squared (though Eric Leeds finished production on the tracks, it's basically a Prince album).
I always wondered if the negative feedback all these albums get here isn't just, in most cases, the mere reflect of people's tastes for VOCAL music.
I just love all the aforementioned jazz/funk albums.
As for Kamasutra well, it sounds silly and quite simplistic compared to orchestral contemporary & experimental music, but there are some good things on it. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Would you like to expand on the bolded part? What is classical music about? And why is Kamasutra, based on what you definition will be, an attempt at being classical music? ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

In reference to the thread, I love the Madhouse albums, I also think Xpectation is charming and I like NEWS. Kamasutra is probably best appreciated in context (ie as the ballet it was intended), but I've not experienced it that way, so I can't say. Believe it or not, I'm yet to hear C-Note! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
