I see it as far better then his latest 3CD release. I guess what I like is that it's not a bunch of sing along hits but an album that you just put on, CD after CD, and listen to the whole thing straight through. It's a very romantic album and a pleasure to listen to.

umm to be honest lol i never wanted to listen to the album at first because i thought it was going to be some sappy boring love octrastra piece of crap decidated to his wife lol but i was wrong biggrin its very soulful music

The video for" Betcha By Golly Wow" goes there a little bit (I heard it was made after the baby died eek ) but one video can be forgiven. ( I like Phyllis Hyman's version of the song better by the way).

i love most of this album, i can't stunt cool. the holy river, joint 2 joint, face down, all the shit touched. i dislike a few too (one kiss at a time, soul sanctuary, damned if i do). would've made a TIGHT double album, but meh... thumbs up!

I really love Emancipation, almost all songs, I 've never understood neither why people frowned at it...

I often come back to some of the tunes, such as:
