Tried a search here at the org., but couldn't find any info.

Is it a new fan-made website?

Related to the old Housequake.com?

i like it, i like it.

MoQuake a is new website that will provide discussion and news on all "Minneapolis Music", not just Prince.

Whilst it has a nod back to Housequake in not only it's name but its ethos, it is indeed a brand new groove.

It's designed to compliment the Org, not be a competitor at all and I hope it doesn't end up being part of some of all too frequent "Org vs HQ" threads and posts that have been apparent on both sites in the past.

Any info on a launch date?

Will we see any of the old HQ features and sections on Moquake? Such as the Uptown articles, Collectibles forum, Discography, Bootleg Discussion etc?

Seriously though, the domain was registered (believe it or not) only 2 weeks back and the amazingly talented techie team are putting together content and design at a phenomenal rate. We're getting there but still a few things to do and we're obviously trying to tie up with something....ahem....coming:

Actually it probably won't be the 7th. Not only is it a tight deadline but the whole "launch on his birthday" thing is a bit contrived in my opinon.

Plus the whole idea of MoQuake is 20% Prince, 80% "Minneapolis Music" so we'd have to do about 30 artists' birthdays

do what Prince did when he launched npgmc just set the day as june 7th (remember he launched it Feb 14 NPGMC time (which was like a week later)

but I agree it is contrived. but maybe you could have something on that day? like a day 1 registration invite even if it is just an email collection.

I don't think there is a such thing as a "competitor" to a particular fan site. If a website is for a particular Artist, and you are a fan of that artist, I don't think it would be really considered participating in a competitors site. You would only be using as many venus as available to show your appreciatation and gain more knowledge of the artist that you are a fan of. Thanks for the info about MoQuake though.

Absolutely and that's why they're of interest to Prince fans, however it's been tricky for artists such as Jesse, Brown Mark, Maceo and Mayte to reach a fanbase that appreciate their work - MoQuake aims to help there. In addition, there will be artists that are technically outside of the "Minneapolis sound" but both the team and members think may well be of interest. I'm looking forward to discovering new music from like minded people.

However many of the rules are the same. Those that follow the rules get to play - same as any website

In a way it's sad that I feel more excited about the launch of housequake.com 2.0 (sort of) than a possible new Prince album.... Come both, and it's gonna be a nice summer..
